Mixed stay - Beech Hill Hotel & Spa
Staying of Bonfire Night as a family of 4. We stayed in one of the family rooms and there was an overwhelming smell of damp in the room as soon as we walked in. I brought this up with the hotel team and their manager offered to spray the room. I do believe that the hotel must have known, there is no way that smell hasn’t been discussed with them before. Spraying the room, did little to mask the smell, my family had a terrible nights sleep but as we were there for only 1 night, we decided we didn’t want to ruin our weekend. Breakfast was very nice, food cooked to order and tasty. Staff at the bar were very friendly and good hosts. Overall, I think for the price hotels now charge to stay and with it being bonfire night there’s always a surcharge, the quality of service as a customer, one should receive should be much higher. I felt we could be been treated better by the hotel, maybe moved to another room or something. Personally as someone who stays in hotels across the country on a weekly basis, it’s not a place I’d go back to based on our experience.

8/10 Very good

The hotel was easy to find, being on the main road to Bowness, it was well signposted but still keep an eye out as it comes upon you quickly. There is plenty of parking on the front but more convenient a large carpark behind. There is a lot of work upgrading the outside infront of rooms that should be lovely. Inside the hotel reception is in the older part but has very nice seating a bar and restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room had a large kingside bed, a flat screen TV, plenty of draws, wardrobe and dressing table, the bathroom was of good size with shower over the bath although the shower screen had the rubber bit missing of the bottom so you have to be careful not to get water all over, also the towel rail was on ALL the time so very hot as was the radiator in the room, it was cold outside and having a warm room was welcome but it was just too hot whilst sleeping. We didn't eat at the restaurant so could not coment, but the breakfast was very nice with plentiful continental offerings and the full English was also very nice. We didn't use the spa facilities either. Overall a lovely 2 night stay

Very good stay by the peaceful lake.
Lovely hotel with great views as right on the Lakeside. The staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful. Be aware that Beech Hill is obviously on a hill so lots of stairs, inform the hotel beforehand if you have mobility problems. There is a charge for the use of the pool as well as the spa which isn’t clear in the Hotel.com information. However the pool is lovely and sitting outside on a cold evening in a very warm relaxing jacuzzi is fantastic. The hotel is under new management but I hope there is not too much change as we really enjoyed our stay.

2/10 Poor

The check in experience was embarrassing long, asked for information that they should have from when we booked. They asked for the same card details multiple times and absolutely no information other than breakfast times on the hotel facilities e,g, swimming pool. Had to ask several times for someone to attend the bar to get drinks and at breakfast there was no information provided that a full English breakfast was available.

The place is beautiful as you can see the view of the lake.Just like Im in Switzerland. We loved the fish and chips, bit expensive but we enjoyed. Things I didn't like was the carpet bit old and no small fridge, heating is not working in our room though we have duvet that made us warm the whole night.Over all the place was amazing coz over viewing the lake.

Excellent location. The whole establishment was clean and tidy. The hotel complex is built in different layers. Pathway to lake shore is so beautiful.. one would enjoy the serenity of the early morning.. We had a double room with full lake view-amazing! Good sized bedroom with a sitting area. The continental breakfast was good with different choices. For full English breakfast, you have to order and pay separately. Only one issue we faced that there was no control for heating in the room. It was on timer. So you can not turn on room heater, if you want to! However the room didn’t feel that cold even without the heating. We loved the hotel and its facilities so much that we would stay here again.
