Not what we were expecting
The stay was ok, however it didn’t quite meet our expectations. I initially informed the hotel that it was my partners birthday and would have thought there would have been some sort of acknowledgment towards that, but there was nothing. We had to book to go to the observatory and did not receive a phone call. When we returned and asked how long it would be, we were informed our name had been ‘ticked off’ the list. We were then escorted to a seat by a staff member who was apologetic about what had happened. When we were sat down we received a phone call asking if we still wanted our seat in the observatory which we found strange as we had been told they’d ticked us off & been seated by a member of staff. After returning to our room later that evening we couldn’t get the lights to work, even with changing the room card. This continued into the morning where we showered on the dark and I needed my phone light to apply makeup. Upon check out we were informed that it is a common complaint about the lights. If this is the case, surely in a hotel of this calibre this could be rectified, or acknowledged by way of informing guests upon arrival.

Disappointing overall
Booked a 1 night stay in a Deluxe Double Room. To begin with, we had an issue with the Iron provided in the room as the plug wasn't functional with wiring exposed, which looked like a safety hazard. A replacement was requested which took around 45 minuted to be provided. We had also ordered a bucket of ice to cool our drinks as there was no fridge, but after an hour of waiting this never arrived. Although the residents bar on the first floor was busy, the service was particularly slow, having to wait over 30 minutes for our 2 drinks to be made. We visited the Observatory Bar, at which point we were sat in the corner beside the window. We sat for around 20 minutes and nobody approached us within this time to take our order or ask if we needed anything else. On a positive note, the bedroom was clean and comfortable. The staff were also friendly and welcoming when checking in.
