Paphos is one of the main tourist hubs in Cyprus. There are technically 2 hubs – the Old Town and New Paphos, which is also known as Kato Paphos. The latter is the main resort area, being right on the beach and hosting a great selection of bars and souvenir shops. There are a few historical gems by the coast, too, including the 40 Columns Fortress and Paphos Castle.

Head to Old Paphos – or Ktima – if you want a calmer atmosphere and a more local ambience. There are more museums and yet more ancient ruins here, among the classical buildings housing government institutions.
