Nice hotel with high end shopping in a bad area!
Nice enough property near the city center. Two blocks away it turns kind of ghetto near the public park. Local told me that there are not a lot of safety issues as long as you avoid the park at night. The rail system, locally known as the T, is a couple of blocks away. A very old and not well kept subway rail and is very dirty and needs much upgrading and repair. Again, I was told to avoid the rail system after dark unless you are attending a ball game or concert when there are lots of other people traveling the rail. And yes, the rail system goes to Logan International. As far as the property itself it was clean and they keep it in good condition. But a few things did bother me. First, the doors going into the bathroom (toilet, vanity, and shower) are barn style as they split in the center and ride on an overhead rail. While this looks ver updated, you cannot lock them nor feel you have privacy while “taking care of business”. Also, they need to teach their staff how to properly make a bed using flat sheets. The lower sheet is always tucked under the mattress and then the top sheet is tucked above that one. Seems like such a small thing but when you pull back the cover sheet, both sheets come untucked and the bottom sheet hangs loose and not stretched and tucked as it should be! Very annoying! And finally, the coffee maker is tucked inside of a cabinet where it is quite impossible to make a cup of coffee. My #1 complaint, no on site parking. The garage charges $40 a day!

Exceptional 10.0
A Wonderful Boston Experience
Our recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Boston was excellent, particularly because of the staff. The recently renovated hotel was most pleasing from an aesthetic perspective, but it is quite rare that a downtown business hotel offers such a wonderful staff. Everyone, absolutely everyone, was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. In particular, we would like to thank Liz, one of the managers, who was extremely, helpful especially with some special needs that required clarification prior to our arrival. Greg, Abdul and the entire staff at Avenue One were exceptional in assuring that our special dietary requirements (Gluten Free / Celiac disease) were attended to in every way possible. The restaurant staff even sent a special treat up to our room to recognize our nephew, who is serving in the Army and whom we were visiting. And who could forget the Bellman Willie, who was always helpful and well as wonderfully entertaining. The staff, and these people in particular, make all the difference and convinced us that when visiting Boston, this is the place to stay in downtown. The hotel also, BTW, has some unique amenities that other comparable properties do not; the 24 hour room service comes to mind for us night owls who want to be spoiled at those hours when the rest of the world is in respite. Conveniently located in the theatre district, close to other major attractions (Fanueil Hall, Aquarium) we recommend this property in the strongest possible language,

Very good 8.0
This location and place is great to stay in, super walkable to public transport as well as just any place in the city. Great rooms, great facilities if you wanted to work out during your stay, etc. The only thing I didn't like was that I felt like there were hidden fees. I got room service because I landed so late and tried to choose the cheapest thing on the menu not realizing that on top of that current price was another $8 of "delivery" fees and, of course, I was going to add a tip. Also, I wish that there wasn't a "destination fee" of $20 a day. I wish that was already included in the price of the rooms since I was expected to pay it regardless if I used the perks that the destination fee "included" or not.

Was tricky to find, but that’s Boston for you. Because the garage said full , we had no choice but to pay the 58 a night to valet park, ouch, but were greeted by nice concierges and staff . Even tho staff was great, we were uncertain about check out time and where to get our free cup of chowder or breakfast. Went down for our free cup of chowder and a drink and had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. While the chowder was delicious, my margarita glass was filled to the top with ice and very little margarita. Had it finished in about 10 minutes so was disappointed that for the $12 cocktail I had Very little to drink. Breakfast was great. Bed and pillows not the best, tossed and turned a lot. But overall hotel would get 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️

Great Hotel, great location in the middle of most sight seeing attractions. No issues with the hotel at all. Just wish the bathroom was bigger, with an enclosed vs cheaper old style curtain shower. But I fell in love with the shower head in there..was like a firehouse...I want to try and buy one for my house! Overall we enjoyed our stay. May stay more towards North Boston on next trip. All of the action at night is near Little Italy, not much going on at night around the Hyatt, except for some shopping towards the South and the Opera House. For dinners...go to Little Italy for all meals! Very happening spot! We hated our Chinatown dinner (China Pear was horrible). Go to this hotel for your 1st trip to won't be disappointed.
