Very good 8.0
Some good, some bad, some draughty.
I wasn't happy with the first room I was offered, which smelt of the previous occupant, overlooked the street and had a large sash window with a draught blowing through it and a curtain you could see through. I was then given a cosy little room on the top floor at the rear of the building, which was small but warm and very quiet. The hallways need a touch of paint, but the lounge areas and bar are cosy and well presented and the staff are helpful, if somewhat formal. I did not try the breakfast or the bar. The location of the hotel is excellent and I would stay again, but only if I could have the room I stayed in, as the standard of rooms seems to vary. The radiator in the first room was minus a knob and a piece of wire had been threaded through the valve to turn it on and off. This and the ill-fitting sash window and thin curtains are not acceptable in a four-star hotel. The overflow in the bathroom sink was also dirty and needed some bleach and the showerhead could have been cleaner. Luckily I don't leave home without Dettol. You will also be asked to pre-authorise 100 euros on your card when you check in to cover your bar bill and any other extras. This seems excessive if you are only staying for a couple of days. I could have eaten the entire room service menu for that amount. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay.

Nice hotel
A lovely couple of nights at this hotel. It’s situated in a lovely district very close to most of the museums and easy access to trams, buses and walking distance to the more central areas of Amsterdam. The hotel itself is nice but I’m not sure it should qualify as a 4 star. The room we were in was very small with an even smaller bathroom with a horrible clingy shower curtain as opposed to a cubicle you would expect. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Wow... They need a working manager in this hotel
The air conditioning stopped working after the 1st day and I was rudely kicked out my hotel room when packing my bags to leave because they booked someone to fix the air conditioner and never told me and I felt like just a room filler and they wanted the room. This is probably the worst stay in 2019 for me and this hotel being a 4 star. There was no manager in the hotel every time I asked for one, and it looks like staff are doing the own business as someone in promised me a late check out but put no notes on the computer.
