Great: breakfast, staff, location, room was big. Not great: a/c seemed to be set so it couldn't go lower than 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Bad: the bathtub/shower is a 3' high step up with no safety rails. The tub is very slippery. It's an accident waiting to happen. Additionally, bathroom is dated and need a remodel

The ideal spot to stay in Salzburg! Just around the corner from the lively walking-street, Linzergasse, and within a short walk of the Salzach River and the historic old town. Great location as it was in the middle of the town and just walking distance across from the bridge to old town. Nice room overlooking the street. Loved the breakfast buffet, and staff were very friendly. Only complaint was that the air conditioning didn’t work that well, so it was warm at night.

What a lovely hotel! Everything was very clean and comfortable. In the evenings, we spent much time downstairs near the bar and reception area. This hotel has a very convenient location. It is pretty and clean with a gorgeous and comfortable lobby/bar area. The parking garage is only a few blocks away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Altstadthotel Wolf-Dietrich. It was clean, comfortable and spacious for 4 adults. It far exceeded my expectations, and was very close to the pedestrian walking areas of Salzburg. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. We will consider staying here for our next trip to Salzburg!

For a hotel that is upwards of $350/night, it didn’t meet expectations. Our room- AC is subpar, there’s minima air movement with open windows. The minibar was advertised in the room with prices but was empty. Our hotel shampoo bottles were empty on arrival. Daily room cleaning service didn’t refill coffee/tea or provide clean glasses when used, only dropped off new towels. The hotel bar is not staffed by a bartender (the front desk manager does it all), and while they advertise $11 “mixed cocktails” they are actually pre-prepared packets (Nio?) that they add to ice, not mixed drinks. The pros of this place include: good breakfast, good location to restaurants and shops, lovely breakfast waitstaff. They deserve praise for their kindness and attentiveness.

We booked this location because of the ac unit- we were hit and needed a break from the heat (yes, we are spoiled from the US). The ac did not cool the unit at all. We ended up opening the windows at night. The facility and room were eclectic (red upholstered bed headboard and frame). We appreciated the assistance with the luggage and the elevator. I would not stay in this property again.

Fantastic spa, steam room, sauna and swimming pool in an easy walk to shopping, cafes, bakeries, grocery stores, old town and Mirabel Palace locations where the Sound of Music was filmed... free breakfast of healthy options and super cold A/C was a plus during the summer.
