Tamarind Inn is a great place for a family on a budget to stay. It’s no frills but safe and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is an afterthought and not substantial. However, they do offer, for the best price in town, the best breakfast for the money in St. John. All the locals will stop by to eat breakfast here. So if you are a family on a budget, this is the place for you! We had a great time with the Tamarind as our base.

The bar/restaurant on site was great for breakfast and dinner, and the restaurant staff were super. Overall, The Inn at Tamarind Court was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to St. John.

The property location was great. It was outside of the middle of town, but close enough to walk to/from everything. It was also right next to a great breakfast/lunch take-out bakery to aid in your daily outings. The Inn's restaurant was wonderful. Breakfast, dinner, drinks and the live music were perfect. I stayed in one of the single rooms with shared bathrooms for three consecutive nights in 2025. Against all of my expectations, this hotel was one of the quietest and peaceful places I have ever stayed at. It is conveniently located (for those of us without mobility issues) within easy walking distance of the Cruz Bay businesses as well as the Starfish Market. The daily price was very reasonable compared to other properties on St. John. The only drawback is that the room electricity is not backed up by generators during the frequent power outages experienced on this island.

Inn at Tamarind Court is conveniently located within walking distance of the shopping and dining areas on St. John. The rooms are bare bones but clean. Parking is available although difficult to find at first. Communication is top notch and many suggestions for dinning were spot on.

THE ROOM WAS IMMACULATE AND VERY NICELY DECORATED. THE ADJOINING RESTAURANT HAD A SIMPLE MENU OF EXTREMELY WELL-PREPARED FOOD, INCLUDING A SMALL BUT DELICIOUS COMPLEMENTARY BREAKFAST FOR WITH DEIXIOUS SWEET BREAD. ONLY A SHORT BUT HILLY WALK FROM THE FERRY TERMINAL.
