Great stay at the Secret, friendly staff, they prepared our room early. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety. Dinner was just okay, better to eat in the town. Overall we had a great time and the island is great! I felt that for the price the hotel could be a little better and the service more attentive. I had trouble getting drinks service by the pool at times, and on a couple of nights the rooftop bar closed earlier than advertised and the when we returned from the markets we couldn’t get a drink.

Food is not great. Bathroom is only separated from the bedroom with a curtain. Guests can be heard outside the room at 6 AM. Air conditioning can only be controlled by the hotel staff. Staff is great and the location is very convenient.

The Secret is one of the higher end options for accommodation on this island. However, we got what we paid for. The food was unreal, some of the best we have had in Vietnam, the service was next level. Andrew and Ly went wayyyy above and beyond to help my wife and I. Expedia gave us a lot of issues with the bookings, both Andrew and Ly and several other staff helped to try and contact Expedia, help with our booking, as well helped organize a private English snorkelling tour. The prices were similar to that of home inn Canada... which compared to Vietnam prices, are much higher. That being said, we were not unhappy at any moment during our stay. The service was incredible.

Nice hotel with a few niggles

Pros: - Great location - Awesome cocktails and happy hour (BOGOF at about 189K each) - Comfy beds - Nice pool area Cons: - This may not bother you but hotel seems VERY popular with influencer types - had people recording videos and having little impromptu photoshoots nonstop around the pool. Also - not the hotel's fault - it was very popular with families so a lot of kids in the pool, which is fine but may not give you the ambience you're looking for if you want a relaxing time. I think it was the start of school holidays in Vietnam though to be fair. - Laundry insanely expensive - use a local laundromat. - The air conditioning is terrible and wouldn't go lower than 22 degrees. This is because they have limited power on the island (fair enough) but if you ask the front desk they can reduce the minimum temp for you. Only found this out on the second to last day which was a shame because I slept terribly in the heat. - Rooms are nice enough but the 'wall' to the bathroom is like a sheer curtain on a rail. The loo and shower are behind actual walls but it doesn't make the bathroom very private. - They play very loud music until quite late (about 11pm) that reaches the rooms. May not bother some but we were there to dive (highly recommend Con Dao Diving) so were in bed relatively early.
