Water dripping from the ceiling in the middle of the night. Thanks to the front desk staff, they managed to change the room immdediatly. The rest is just fine, hotel has a great location. Rooms are big enough, breakfast is good.

The location was good. Lots of restaurants close by. Convenient for the local bus to go to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. A short walk to the Waverley train station. The breakfast was good with a variety of items. No phone in the room. Would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a good location and breakfast is good. AC worked very well to keep room cool to sleep. Very minor item is that lots of people stand out front smoking, mostly due to the restaurant on the ground floor. It is hard to avoid entering the hotel, and the smoke travels through the lobby and elevator. It would be nice if they enforced a distance requirement for smoking in front of the hotel entrance, but I know this is not common in Scotland or the UK.

Arrival was confusing with mixed levels of help from staff. They insisted we pull up the confirmation number despite having given our names and sat while the wifi struggled to connect to allow us to get the info. Then eventually just looked it ip with our names after acting as though we hadnt guven jrThe room had water damage in various spots and didnt seem clean. On the plus side the location was great and even a nice view.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Most of the reception staff were very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit, which made a positive first impression. The location is exceptional — very convenient and ideal for exploring the area. The breakfast was good in quality, although somewhat limited in variety. It covers the basics well, but there is room for more options. The main area for improvement would be the guest service in the kitchen/breakfast area. There were two young staff members who, unfortunately, were not friendly. When we asked for assistance, their responses felt rude, and at times it seemed like they were trying to scold guests if something didn’t meet their expectations. For example, when I asked for water, I did not receive a verbal response — only a gesture pointing elsewhere. Working in customer service requires a courteous and respectful attitude, and improving this aspect would make a significant difference in the overall guest experience.
