Wonderful location
Loved the location! Easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see while in Madrid. It was extra fun seeing the street vendors and musicians just outside the main lobby door. Our room was spacious, clean, beautifully appointed and most important...super quiet!

Perfect location. Right into Sol Plaza. Small rooms but functional . huge showers. Plenty instant hot water. Great spanigh breakfast with the customary Serrano ham and crushed tomatoes 🍅 and eggs and bacon. And almamchwgo cheese. What else do you want ?

First Time in Madrid
The location was perfectly adjacent to the Puerta del Sol. The Metro, buses and great walks down to the art triangle from this location made Madrid work for me. The attached photo is of the street in front of the hotel. The staff at the hotel could not be beat! Their friendliness and knowledge of Madrid made my stay pure pleasure! This will be my home when in Madrid!

This is an excellent option in front of the Plaza del Sol area. Great breakfast buffet, clean, service, space and price. The only problem is that this hotel doesn't have smoke detectors. It is supposed to be a non smoking hotel, but at midnight, someone was smoking pot on the inside and all the smoke came through the rooms... Twice! Terrible!!! Apparently, the staff members are aware of this but there's not much they can do. A shame for an excellent hotel.

The Hotel Moderno Puerto del Sol has a fantastic location adjective to Puerto del Sol close to transit, taxis, shopping, restaurants and Madrid sights. Our triple room balcony overlooked Calle del Arenal which is a great street to walk along. Close to Plaza Mayor as well. Many sights within walking distance. Would stay here again. Only downside is a low rumble every once in a while from the metro traveling underground, but it is not bothersome.
