Surrealistic breakfast experience
We had a basic familiar room and at the beginning we were positively surprised by the different details for kids (as a bunk bed with a climbing wall or furniture and amenities for them). Our nightmare started when we went for breakfast the morning after. Firstly, there were two different sites for breakfast I guess based on type of customer or room rate. We were assigned to a sinister, dirty old pub with red-painted walls. Two big plastic baby bathtubs were waiting at the entrance set to collect water from ceiling leakings. The area was attended by a group of youngsters (I have my doubts if some of them were +18) without any supervision while they 'delighted' us playing techno music while working. The improvised display of food and beverages were set with a total lack of hygiene measures (no roof-topped containers or cool-keepers). But the worst part was still to come: one of the young workers (identified as Jegor on his badge) started to throw up on the bar while trying to reach the waste bin at the other side. In the middle of the hurly-burly he kneed on the floor and kept on his vomiting there for disappearing into the back office right afterwards. He reappeared then in a question of seconds cleaning his own vomit and keeping his normal duties with the same gloves on as nothing. No need to say that we left the place immediately... I have a wide experience in hotels but this was by far the most surrealistic one ever.

My favourite hotel in Tallinn!
Wonderful position - easy to reach everywhere & close to all the bus routes. I love the KGB tour & have done it twice - I had Eva as my guide the first time & also the second; she is very knowledgable & interesting & brings the history of the hotel alive! I am English & she is very easy to understand & has a good sense of humour! Lots of excellent places to eat & take coffee & cakes around here, some very interesting! Always buy a Tallinn Card - amazing value. Go to the local markets - very close to the hotel - walk or public transport. I liked the Cafe Energia, in the road behind the Viru...cheap coffee & sprat sandwiches & cakes! From Soviet times. Rotemann area in front of the hotel - old & new.

Exceptional 10.0
Sokos Hotel
After a late arrival in Tallinn and a taxi ride I had a courteous check-in at the hotel. The rooms are nicely appointed. There is a great breakfast spread with plenty to choose from for every taste. The hotel has a Mexican Restaurant and a nice lobby bar. Staff is very helpful answering questions about the area and giving directions. The hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance to the old town. Messages I received from home were promptly related. A shopping mall, as well as a supermarket are attached to the hotel. ATMs are available at the mall. On the 23rd floor is a small KGB Museum.

Good hotel very close to the city center
The hotel is easy to find, conmfortable to get by car (has a good parkplace) and it is really in a good location, just few steps from city center and all the Tallin's attractions. The view from the 15th floor is beautiful, on the old city and on the port. The room was a little bit small for three people, with the third bed added, but comfortable (without locker). Only one point: entering the room, we found the toilet bowl with some hair inside, as if it was not cleaned properly. The hotel reception solved immediately this unpleasant problem, when requested. The room was then cleaned perfectly during the stay.

Good 6.0
Disappointing hotel
Hotel is a 3 stars for european standars. 4 stars just for the location. Standard room with nice view but bathroom a bit small and very basic. This is a big hotel so it is very busy at all times. Reception has 6 positions but only 2 are open some there are often queues expecially aroud 2 pm which is check in time. Lobby is usually very busy with guests hanging around. Breakfast is also manic not matter at what time you go and hard to find a table. Breakfast quality is standard and a bit ripetitive. Scrambled eggs very dry and needs improving.
