This is a traditional hotel... not internationalized best western type place. This was exactly what we were looking for during our trip. When I go to France, honestly I prefer to feel like a local. This is a wonderful sort of historic property. Everyone else staying there appeared to be French families and couples.
I think it was one of the best hotels we stayed in ... the owners made it so. Very approachable and welcoming. The room had shower and toilet - toilet was in a separate room as the shower appears to have been added - but it was probably the nicest shower we had on our trip.
Free parking was available, and hotel is just across the street from old town. Which was deserted in parts. That gave a sort of different feel from other old towns - this has many residences until you get to the arena. The businesses are on the main street that the hotel is on ... so old town across the street - turn right from the hotel you get to parks and restaurants and modern streets. We loved Arles and took a quick side trip to Nimes one day. This was a good base.
Lastly - breakfast was a bargain... I think 10 euros. They were very accommodating, plenty of coffee and hot chocolate for my son. Meat, cheese, yogurt, many different types of bread and likely fresh squeezed juice. Well it tasted that way (except my son pounded it saying "this is the best juice ever") Home made preserves of Fig, banana/lemon, and berry were AWESOME and special.
