2/10 Poor

The worst hotel ever. I found a old pizza and a pizza box in the top drawer of the room dresser. The bed was uncomfortable. The toilet made so much noisy and didn’t work well. The front desk was rarely staffed and when it was the receptionist was unfriendly. No rest room in the lobby. We would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Watch out for the mozzies!
Little bit tired but well situated and helpful owners - the mosquito-infested stream outside didn't help!

Run down hotel in sketchy area
We did not actually stay here. Left to find other lodging. The photos must have been taken 20 years ago. Cannot fathom the high reviews. Stains on walls, perhaps mold? No safe place for a car.

Arles is a great location to be based if you are traveling around Provence and there is usually ample free parking near the hotel.

Perfect Hotel Experience
From the moment I walked into Hotel Constantin I felt at home. I met one of the owners immediately. She offered me a range of drinks to cool me down from the heat. Check-in was a breeze. I loved my room, looking out, as it did, on a fig tree and mature maples filled with cawing crows. Breakfast was delicious and included homemade jams, including fig jam from the tree outside. Wi-fi was plenty fast, by the way. An extraordinary visit to Arles was made all the better for my having stayed at Hotel Constantin. Five Stars.

Traditional hotel, great owners breakfast.
This is a traditional hotel... not internationalized best western type place. This was exactly what we were looking for during our trip. When I go to France, honestly I prefer to feel like a local. This is a wonderful sort of historic property. Everyone else staying there appeared to be French families and couples. I think it was one of the best hotels we stayed in ... the owners made it so. Very approachable and welcoming. The room had shower and toilet - toilet was in a separate room as the shower appears to have been added - but it was probably the nicest shower we had on our trip. Free parking was available, and hotel is just across the street from old town. Which was deserted in parts. That gave a sort of different feel from other old towns - this has many residences until you get to the arena. The businesses are on the main street that the hotel is on ... so old town across the street - turn right from the hotel you get to parks and restaurants and modern streets. We loved Arles and took a quick side trip to Nimes one day. This was a good base. Lastly - breakfast was a bargain... I think 10 euros. They were very accommodating, plenty of coffee and hot chocolate for my son. Meat, cheese, yogurt, many different types of bread and likely fresh squeezed juice. Well it tasted that way (except my son pounded it saying "this is the best juice ever") Home made preserves of Fig, banana/lemon, and berry were AWESOME and special.

Going Van Gogh
We were welcomed by Carol, the owner, an American who has lived a deal of time in France. She introduced us to the hotel, the town of Arles, and offered us a locally concocted lemon beverage in the back lobby. Our room was small, but with the little desk up against the wall, it appropriately resembled Vincent Van Gogh's painting of his little room in Arles. The breakfast was wonderful and the woman serving was so nice and we had a good laugh when we arrived too early for breakfast, not realizing I had read my watch wrong. She served us anyway, with a big smile and a good laugh.

Lovely charming hotel in a beautiful French town
This was by far one of the most delightful places my family has ever stayed in. Our hostess was amazing. She showed us on a map all of the local attractions. Unfortunately we were only in Arles one night and she helped us make the most of our short visit. She also arranged a cab for our trip back to the train station. The breakfast was wonderful and was served in a charming little breakfast room. Our room was also charming and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and the lovely village of Arles.
