Recently Refurbished, Promising Place to Stay
Beautiful property, lovely location. Obviously it recently changed ownership, as there were no other guests, and there were no amenities offered yet beyond the basic bedroom. But it has a ton of promise, and if proper attention is paid to detail this could be one of Southern Ontario's outstanding quasi-boutique stays.

Lackluster Hotel
Less than mediocre stay. There isn’t always someone at reception desk. Cleanliness is an issue. Bathtub wasn’t cleaned and had a small amount of hair from previous guests in it. A/C was old, loud, and unreliable. Beds were comfortable. Shower ran out of hot water (well warm water) after only a few minutes and I was the first to shower. Reception area had a dirty tissue on the floor that was never swept up our whole stay. Would not stay again.

Disappointing!
Hotel is very basic. Rooms are fine but very sparse feeling. Hotel was loud -- loads of noise from other rooms and from the plumbing from rooms above us. The outside grounds are just scruffy, unkempt gardens; it all looks like it hasn't been cared for in ages. No recycling bins in the rooms.

Poor Business Accume
Room was booked early July for 1 night early August stay. The day before our booking, we were contacted by Stone Willow Inn to notify us that the hot water was not working. We were offered to still arrive or cancel with refund. We had a theatre event with 30 degree weather and needed hot water, therefore secured another last minute hotel at a higher price and still await the refund to credit card over month and half later. Ive reached out twice already and still have not recieved refund. Poorly executed cutomer service and business accume.

The room was nice and spacious and included a decent sized fridge and a coffee maker. They turned off the water for repairs for several hours while we were there without much warning or compensation but overall, for the price, we were happy with our stay.

Hidden Gem
Loved our stay. The inn is just on the outskirts of St Mary's. Beautiful property. You feel like you are in the country. Big window in the room. So clean. We were really happy. When we arrived we knew to call the number on the desk and someone came right away. So easy. Very friendly. Great price -- we feel lucky to have found it. So close to Stratford. So easy to get back after the play. Highly recommend the Stone Willow Inn. Once they get a little busier and more experience, this place is going to be in high demand!

Recently reopened
This could be a great hotel nice setting walkable to shops and restaurants. There needs to be more attention to detail in the cleaning of stairs and hallways in particular and also the rooms. We enjoyed the stay but the door on our first room would not lock so we had to move but overall not too bad for the money

Very disappointing stay
Stay away! This hotel lacks in the following: - customer service - asked for the managers contact info as there was no power for an hour upon check in at the hotel (hard to see going up the stairs, unable to get ready for the wedding I was in town for). Was refused to be provided with any contact info/no assistance provided - no hot water at all! Unable to shower which is unacceptable / there was no hot water from check in to check out - floors were filthy dirty... not clean at all / had to keep slippers on the entire time - overall cleanliness of the room was not satisfactory I would never stay here again nor recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Stone Willow has a beautiful country setting within easy access to Stratford; perfect for a Festival visit. Rooms have a fridge, coffee maker and microwave so simple meals can be preprepared as the hotel does not have any food services. A few picnic tables on the lovely grassed area would be perfect to enjoy eating outdoors. The spotless rooms are modestly furnished and would benefit from additional lighting . This hotel has terrific potential and with a few minor additions, will soon be the best Festival accommodations. We will certainly return again.

Terrible
When I booked the room it said free breakfast and when I showed up they said they were only doing that in June when I booked not July when I arrived. Dead flies in the sink. TV was not working, air conditioning either blasted cold air or did nothing. Dead earwig in the water in the front reception. Know one at the desk so you had to call a number to get service. Also took forever to check in. Outside of the property is pretty and the bed was comfortable but overall would stay far away! This hotel won’t last with the management as it is. I understand it’s new ownership but when I voiced my concern I was shrugged at. Worst hotel experience. Contacted hotels.com and they were no help.
