Not located in Old Town Alexandria.
I booked this stay because it was listed on Hotels.com as being in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The location link on Hotels.com places it in the heart of Old Town, specifically on South Washington Street, according to their map. However, this property is actually located in South Alexandria, about a 1-hour 12-minute walk from Old Town. I called Hotels.com to try to change the location, but the host would not allow me to rebook without incurring a cancellation penalty. I found this very misleading. Hotels.com tried their best to make things right, but they were unable to rebook me without the host waiving the hold. I also called the property to talk to a manager and they never called me back. Additionally, this place is located next to the busy Richmond Highway, and during the three nights we stayed, we heard an average of 3-4 emergency vehicles with their sirens blaring throughout the night and early morning. The unit itself was nice and clean, but overall, I felt misled. Be warned and double-check the address on Google Maps. Don’t rely solely on the listing.
