Our stay here was good and bad. On the good side, it was quiet, great sauna and pool, really excellent food in the restuarant, lovely gym and bowling facilities and nicely kept with lots of natural woods and energy efficient ideas like automatic sun blinds (it was built in 2007). The choice and price of the therapies and massages on offer were also very good value.
On the downside, for us, the beds were just too hard and the pillows didn't suit us at all (one large very soft square one and one firmer small square one). We also try to avoid using the airconditioning, but it was unavoidable for a comfy night's sleep. The staff did respond ok when we asked for spare duvets to but put on the beds to sleep on, but it spoilt what should have been a very restful 4 days for us.
If you don't have a car, you are limited to the infrequent bus, or cycling, and it is not near anything worth visiting, though walking around the place was very pleasant. If you are into tennis, badminton, or have kids there are lots of activities to do. Spa treatments are good value at around 25-40 GBP for an hour but prices of things like ice-cream and water are higher. Given the time of year and the activity we strongly suggest you bring at least a few litres of water with you if you can.
Breakfast was average, the usual cooked eggs bacon, sausage plus a small range of fruit, musili and a yogurt, but nothing special.
