Return to Samesun Vancouver
Had the opportunity to return and stay back at Samesun Vancouver. Why? Samesun is located in city centre, close to train from YVR(Airport), clubs, fitness centres and supermarkets. For coffee lovers you have Tim Hortens across the road and an actual coffee shop on the other side. Samesun is also lucky to have full kitchen cooking facilities which is a plus for those on a budget. There has been a lot of new renovations with more shared toilets and showers which is really nice. Common room has had a makeover with the TV lounge removed and loss of pool table. And currently staff are replacing and fitting out the first floor with wooden bunks. Like most Hostels there are daily activities posted for sightseeing around Vancouver, a hockey game or even day rides to and from Cypress, Whistler. An advantage is the Beaver Bar where we meet for events, activities and Breakfast which is free. The staff whether old, new members are always happy to help. A big thanks to Staff: Mat, Doug, Francesco, Jody, Ben at reception plus Charlie and Leon at Maintenance.

Exceptional 10.0
Service desk was very helpful and friendly. All my needs were accommodated. This was my first time staying at a hostel and it left a very good impression. Clean. Great location -close to transit, it's downtown. Only drawback to the location is that there are a ton of homeless and sketchy people on Granville street, especially at night. But the hostel is locked so I wasn't worried.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location especially if you’re into partying. Night Clubs and bars are all around. Yaletown is a 5 min walk and Granville island is a bus ride, approx 10 min. Be careful (late night) you will find quite a few homeless people on the streets. Not unsafe, just be aware. Overall, a decent place to stay if you’re on a budget.
