Happy stay

Lovely location in a safe pleasant square. Enjoyed taking the tram in and out. Good food hall around the corner where we enjoyed some spicy margaritas in the evening. Breakfast not included in our stay so we visited The Breakfast Club cafe on the corner which was great. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, modern decor design.

Great location, very clean, superb staff.

Excellent location, right next to a beautiful food hall, with a lot more options for food and drinks around. At walking distance to pretty much everything. The hotel was sparkling clean, and the staff was fantastic. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

Loved our stay here! Spacious room, friendly staff, centrally located to a lot of fun things in the area.

Unique boutique hotel in a quiet but interesting neighbourhood.

8/10 Very good

Good but one drawback

Room was in decent size and very clean. Staffs are friendly and helpful. 4-6 min walk to tram. Neighborhood is quiet. Only problem for us is: there is no elevator for the floor 2 (floor start from 0). And there is no porter to help you with the heavy luggages. On-duty staff maybe a young woman that can’t help you much.

8/10 Very good

Very nice place. For the price we paid, I think they could’ve offered continental breakfast. Location was what we needed to walk to brkfst, trams and trains.. People at the desk were helpful. Shower & bathroom layout w/window into bedrm was awkward. The 6 inches of space on either side of sink was a bit tight. Room & closet were spacious. No drawers though. Electrical outlets met our needs for adapter & USA plug ins. On line directions to hotel were exact for train, trams and walking but it took a few minutes to locate the sign for the hotel. It was in safe area with shopping & outside food market two blocks away I would recommend Hotel de Hallen. Pic of coffee place, bedroom & from the train our final destination sign

On my recent European trip this was by far my favorite hotel. Wonderful staff, fantastic facilities, great dining options very close. Just overall wonderful experience.

4/10 Fair

A bed to sleep at, that’s all.

Positives – staff was friendly, room was dark, shower pressure was solid. Location is a short tram ride or 25 minute walk into the city. Spaces were nicely done. Location next to the food hall gave plenty of dining options. Negitives. This place is pretty much a dorm room. Never stayed at a hotel with concrete floors and zero windows. One pillow on each bed. Wi-Fi in room was not existent. Beds are foam with big body impressions. Looking back, over 90% of the pictures on the app are the community Spaces and very little pictures of the actual rooms themselves. Feels like a college dorm room. Asked the front desk about nearby breakfast recommendations, and he didn’t know of any.

Comfortable hotel, close to transportation and shopping. Staff were very friendly too. Only thing is that the shower water pressure isn't very strong but other than that minor detail, everything else was perfect!

Tina, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Brilliant hotel and reasonable price

First impressions were a modern and quirky hotel, built within the old tram repair building. It’s a compact hotel by has all you need. A bar, breakfast, vending machine lots of seating around and fantastic stylish rooms. It’s about a 20min walk into the centre, great on nice says, but as it rained all the time we were there we caught the tram. Would definitely go to this hotel again!
Bobbie, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I didn’t like the fact my room didn’t have any windows and that there isn’t a real door for the bathroom and no ventilation. Other than this, average hotel, well situated, very nice and friendly staff.

Hotel De Hallen is an excellent choice of hotels in Amsterdam. It's located in a really great area, close to trams and restaurants, without it being really busy or too touristic. The room was excellent - spacious and clean. Breakfast was also well priced and plentiful, including freshly cooked omelettes. I would stay again!
