2/10 Poor

22:30pm my door was opened by the receptionist, they then poked something through the door to unlock the safety latch. And just walked into my room, I got out of bed to ask what they were doing, they said "oh, I thought you were still out" and left. In the morning the same staff member was on reception, no apology or explanation was given.

Great hotel.
The hotel and staff was great. I didn't know where to go to get a local simcard, but I was escorted by the hotel staff to a nearby telecom shop. Also, the AC was cold and the wifi was fast. The hotel is located near many attractions such as the Zanzibar Ferry.

Okay, so I spent a week and a half here and here’s my review: breakfast was great and it’s free, the room I booked was nice and the AC was OK. The WiFi worked OK, but was spotty in the evenings. I ordered room service a lot and they provided great service and the food was delicious. Customer service was top notch. Will I stay here again? Yes. I recommend it. No hotel is 100% perfect. For the price, it was well worth the stay.

Nice Small Boutique Style Hotel
Clean spacious rooms and friendly service. Reliable wifi. However, poor window insulation resulting in excessive noise into room. Would suggest taking rooms facing back of building instead of main road.

6/10 Good

Basic hotel in the middle of the city.
It looks better on the pictures. The entrance to the hotel is difficult to spot, being narrow and not exclusive to it (but it is shared with other businesses in the building). There is carpet from wall to wall, that over the years has gathered dust and smell, that is why the personnel of the hotel is always with an air-freshener in hand, to mediate the situation. The breakfast is no thrills, very basic just to tick the list of services offered.

The hotel ambiance is very good. Entrance to hotel is very busy, noisy and a bit uncomfortable or intimidating for travelers entering or exiting the hotel. Staff is great. The food is excellent.

Unexpected
We got moved to the sister Hotel in the North of Dar Es Salaam. The Hotel is quite new and the facilities are great for a boutique hotel. We did however miss out out on the closeness to the city center and had to spend a lot of time in traffic. Rooms are clean and the food is good, WiFi standard. Some issues with bugs - I hope they fumigate the place soon. The hotel in the north will probably do better as Dar develops - its close to many of the new developments.

I didnt like that during breakfast, every time I order eggs, yolks were always missing. Every egg I ordered was white like snow. I wonder why yolks are being removed! I asked but seems to be a mistery why yolks from eggs disappears!

Wonderful stay, amazing staff, very comfortable
Had a great stay a few months ago, just stayed again. Staff very professional and warm and welcoming, remembered me well. Room has everything you could need, very clean and quiet. Great breakfast made to order, and quick and friendly airport transfers. Will definitely stay again

Great Hotel, friendly Staff, and Helpful too.
enjoyed Dar es Salam, would have liked a local guide book to restaurants, bars, tourist spots, you no the one with the maps as well. No bar at the hotel, but no suggestions on where to go to find one. Truthfully we only stayed in Dar on way to ZZBar, had we known how much more to do on ZZBar, we would have skipped Dar completely.

Great staff make it hard to write a bad review
Quite spacious room and clean without being perfect. Had issues with my shower in two fo the three rooms I stayed in. It's no drama though, you let them know and they will either change your room or fix it, but just like with anything in Tanzania - everything is pole pole (slowly, slowly) so just don't expect it to be done quickly. All staff speak very good English and stay was comfortable even though I had to change rooms.

Nice "local" Hotel
Nice clean hotel would not give it more than 3 stars and for $170 you can find much better in Dar. Also asked to be picked up at the airport and was heavily over charged - this is unusual to be over charged by the hotel and not by a taxi in the street. So i won't stay here again will go yo the Holiday Inn or New African.
