It is not the best place but maybe good in this small vacation town. It’s really a classic hotel with very few modern features. Beds are hard and just one pillow provided was not very comfortable, and breakfast is very is very basic. But can’t expect 5 star property for the price paid.

It’s an average hotel. Not fancy in any way but it is comfortable, the staff is kind and the location is convenient.

Perfect location
Perfect location. Right in from of JR station and 1-2min walk from Tobu station. All busses to Toshogu (and ones to Lake Chuzenji) leave from JR.

Nikko does not have a lot of hotel options in Expedia, but this one is perfectly fine for a small tourist town. Located directly next to JR Nikko station and downhill from Tobu-Nikko station, so easy to get to. Has its own onsen and a good breakfast Western buffet. Otherwise dine out. Rooms are somewhat small and older, but good beds. Pro tip: all the buses start at JR Nikko station, so if you get on there you are guaranteed to get a seat.

Across the street from the JR train station and a 5-10 min walk to the centre of town. Simple breakfast but was good for us. Good three pool onsen for a relax in a simple locale. Good place for sleeping while you go see the area.

You can get everything but wi-fi
It is old classic place with proper update and maintenance. And location was super excellent, close to station and bus stop, etc. However wifi worked limited for one device in a room with extremely slow speed. I think that is the only drawback on this hotel

Our marvellous 5 days stay with Nikko Station Classic as we explore Nikko. Love the close proximity to train station with great sound proofing room and beautiful mountain view from room. Loved the dinning options offered especially their breakfast buffet with wide varieties and different choices each morning. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Comfortable and Quaint
The hotel staff was super friendly. I really appreciate their hospitality. It was 5-star. Between that and the room I was completely happy, it was comfortable, quiet, and overall pleasant. The onsen at the hotel was a bonus and I enjoyed a late bath alone under the stars in the outdoor setting.
