We received an email the day I was supposed to check-in stating that I would not be allowed to check-in until the next morning, since I had not made special arrangements. Unknown to me at the time, the hotel policy is for customers to check in person between 8am and 11am. We were traveling and did not planned to arrive in town until late afternoon to check-in and did not have access to emails until mid afternoon when I saw the email sent by the hotel. I called the hotel contact number over and over and never got anybody to answer the phone and sent an email, also without response. There was nobody at the hotel, nobody to answer the phone and left without a room that was already paid for. We found ourselves driving an hour distance to find the nearest available room. When I showed up the next morning to explain my situation, the receptionist showed absolutely no empathy, was completely rude and stated that it was my problem that I didn’t show-up between the hours 8am and 11 am on the previous day. She simply kept stating that there was nothing she could do to help me. I’m sorry, but there’s always something you can to to help the customer, if nothing else than a apology for the inconvenience, which she did not even do. However she was happy to take my money for no service rendered. In addition the room did not appropriate curtains. The thin completely see true material allowed the backyard light to reflect directly in the room and to lake thing’s worst, there was no hot water
