Macdonald Botley Park Hotel & Spa

Macdonald Botley Park Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good
"The hotel staff at the reception were very helpful and so welcoming. However there was one member of staff in the laundry room who came across like she couldn’t be bothered helping when I asked her for a clean towel for the swimming pool area because the one she pointed me towards smelt really damp so I wanted a clean one and she just ignored me so I helped myself. The hotel- the cleanliness was not great. The room was quite outdated and the bed sheets had this damp smell. My daughters had a foldable bed and their mattress sunk in when they slept on it so they could literally feel the bed rail underneath but because we were just there for one night and it was late we didn’t complain. Breakfast was good it was a buffet style and had a good variety. Overall, we had a nice stay for the night as we used the swimming pool too. However, I wouldn’t return due to the lack of hygiene/cleanliness. The damp smelling sheets and towels really put me off 😑"

"The room smelt surgically clean when we arrived but we soon got used to it! It was quite small but you get what you pay for and beds were super comfy. Parking was £12.50 for the day. It's very close to the retail park and West Quay shopping centre, and high street shops. If you want somewhere cheap and clean I would recommend here."

This allows ample time to experience the local museums, historical excursions, and vibrant theatre scene, all while enjoying the friendly atmosphere and beautiful natural parks. With budget-friendly options available, visitors can enjoy great value for money during their stay in this culturally rich destination.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Southampton, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted accommodation rates as your travel date approaches. By keeping an eye on price drops or room availability, you might just seize a fantastic last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you potentially save on your stay at a hotel in Southampton. If you're in search of something a bit different, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels located near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but with Southampton's fantastic public transport options, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that’s still well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known towns nearby, there’s often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
