5 Star Accommodation in Manila

Seek out 5 star accommodation in Manila and be surprised at how the tourism scene has evolved greatly over the years. The city might not have been as popular holiday destination in the past, but that has all changed and the change doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

The city is steadily transforming into a sprawling and culturally diverse location that tourists are beginning to recognize and enjoy. The culture is a lot more diverse and even the nightlife scene is quickly developing into tourist magnet.

Things to see

Landmarks worth paying a visit include the Baywalk, which is a linear park that offers visitors a view of spectacular sunsets. Nearby are several restaurants that offer a taste of local as well as other cuisines like western and Asian. If you’re a fan of Chinatowns, Manila has one of the largest in the world, featuring a multitude of shops and restaurants that serve exotic and delicious Chinese cuisine.

Culture seekers will want to explore the several museums here, with a sharp focus on the National Museum of the Philippines. This museum gives visitors access to significant collections from archaeology, arts, zoology, botany and many other things embedded in the Philippines’ history and culture. Manila also has an Ocean Park that is a staggering 8,000 square meters in size, and features a 25 meter underwater tunnel for an amazing underwater experience with the kids.

Where to stay

If history and culture is to your liking, then Binondo is the place for you. The world’s oldest Chinatown can be found here, as well as retail and F&B outlets that feature mostly Chinese and Hong Kong cuisine. Hokkien is another prominent cuisine and one can find exotic dishes like Tikoy, Hopia, and Kiampong to enjoy while exploring the district.

The district Quiapo got its name from a floating plant that thrived in the area, and is currently a busy and bustling city. Attractions here include historic and religious buildings like the Quiapo Church, Golden Dome Mosque and Bahay Nakpil-Bautista. The stuff to buy range from the curious to the fascinating, which includes amulets, herbal medicine and native cakes.

How to get to Manila

The most practical way to reach Manila is by air, and Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the main gateway for that. There are four terminals though, and to travel between them requires a taxi or jeepneys. The best way to travel around is usually by car, unless you’re extremely confident in navigating with a rented car.
