Service with a Smile
I liked the hotel overall. All the staff members were extremely helpful and attentive. It’s one of the main reasons I chose to stay in this hotel. On a previous trip to Medellin, I had passed by the hotel and decided to check it out. The folks at the reception desk and the security guard who showed me the room were all so pleasant that I decided I’d stay here on my next trip to Medellin.
I liked my room that had a bath and the location at the end of the hallway was not overlooking the street so it was nice and quiet. There were some issues with water pressure and faulty shower heads but they resolved the issues for me. The water pressure was so weak I had to finally ask them to remove the shower head altogether so I could have a semi normal shower with decent pressure. This has unfortunately been a common experience for me in other decent hotels in Medellin. It likely has to do with water-saving requirements in the city.
I found the a/c units very difficult to control. The fan setting would either go low or high but not medium. However, every time I needed help adjusting the settings, they sent someone to help me. I did not like the fact that there was no clock or phone in the room. When u need help, you must use your cell phone to call or WhatsApp the front desk. Service at the coffee bar and restaurant was also great. Nothing like service with a smile!
