Don’t do it!!
I’ve stayed at a few capsule hotels at this point, and as a short individual, it’s usually perfect for me. At this capsule hotel, you’ll be greeted by the smell of shoes once you’re at the reception. When you’ve made it to your own capsule, assuming you’ve booked one for females, you will find the showers completely full. The shared toilet area is extremely squeezy, and I felt claustrophobic with the steam everywhere. Overall, I was surprised by how bad my visit was. I kept smelling shoes around some parts of the women’s floor, as if it was wafting up from the reception.

For the price and location there isn't much to complain about. The only thing that I will complain about is the mattresses. They are way too soft for how thin they are. If I lied on my side I was essentially lying on the floor

It was an experience
I had to stay at a capsule hotel in Japan, or so I was told. I guess I am glad I had the experience and over all it wasn't horrible. They are trying. I'm sure it's impossible to keep up on everything with the amount of traffic they get and the area it's in. The staff was very courteous and my capsule was fine; if a bit dated. It's noisy and bright all night. I was able to sleep.

Stinky, Crowded, Tony Capsule Hotel
Whole place smelled absolutely terrible, they force you to check out and leave the hotel every day at 10 am, and check back in at 2 pm, you can’t be in the hotel at all during that time, or grab any of your stuff. Service was kind enough but the lockers are tiny, the hallways to the lockers are tiny, and people will bump into you trying to change. Impossible to do anything there. Seems like they haven’t remodeled anything since the 80s, everything is old. The baths are ok but always filled. You only get one set of towels, extra costs money, so every hangs their towels on their lockers or rooms to dry, adding to the stink. It’s a shame because it could be much better but after a single night (as a 6’4” man that didn’t come close to fitting in the capsule) I left and didn’t come back, I don’t care I lost the money on the reservation. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. Sorry, but there are better capsule options elsewhere.

Capsule hotel review
Price was good and staff helpful. Amazing location in Shinjuku. Night life all around and convenient location to subway. Bathroom had lots of amenities including free shampoo, conditioner, bodywash. Plenty of towels and free disposable slippers available. However, no AC available in each pod or really on the floors. Was quite warm. Not able to store luggage.

I probably won’t stay here again for these reasons: (1) Capsule - The capsule itself was extremely hot and I sweated a lot, struggling to fall asleep. No fan. Also, I am 6’ 1” (185cm) and struggled to fit my whole body in the capsule without slanting/angling my body. The capsule shade is very thin and it actually opened up (due to my foot brushing against) multiple times during the night. (2) Location - It’s not particularly close to any convenience stores and on the walk back late at night I was surprised at the amount of sketchy people were outside/near the hotel trying to get my attention. Weird for Japan. (3) Check-out - There is a bizarre cleaning/check-in/out rule that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Even if you stay multiple nights, you have to be out of the facility by 10am. If you’re not, they charge a fee. And you have to re-check in for your same capsule the next night. (4) Time - because of the check-out rule, it is a pain trying to get down the elevator to the lobby. It took at least 30 minutes to get to the lobby and another 20 to get out of the building. The baths are nice and so is the staff. But everything else makes it not worth the stay.

As soon as you walk out of the elevator, the place seems like it was stuck from the past. No hate on the staff or anything, the staff actually made it enjoyable. Its just the placement of the building, its not properly maintained and it's stuck from the past.
