Beautiful hotel
We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. We stayed here the night we got engaged which felt even more special. The room was so clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We had a gorgeous unexpected balcony which suited our morning coffee perfectly! Our only gripe was that we were told at the front desk that both restaurants were open and only one of them was; however the more relaxed restaurant that we ate as was lovely and good value. We stayed here on a Thursday night and not many restaurants around the area were open on a Thursday for any fellow travellers!

Perfect Mix of Wilderness and Action
We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen overlooking the slopes and it was awesome. Our only complaint is that the fireplace was not real, it was one of those with lights instead of fire but we rolled with the punches and won’t knock a star just for that although we were really looking forward to real fire (it was in the 40s when we visited in November). The hotel is in a quaint town that has restaurants and there is a grocery store right next door, which makes it very easy. There is a river behind the hotel (hence the name) and a great walkway along the river. The wine in the winery is not the best but heck, when you are on vacation any wine is good. They also serve cider (alcoholic, of course!) and that was Ok but again, it is good to have that option on property. It is a great location to drive to the Kancamagus scenic road. Do the loop and go to the Omni Washington Mt. Resort. That was a very cool stop. We did dinner there and it was very expensive ($150 for 2) but we splurged and really enjoyed the grounds. You don’t need to eat there to visit. A must hike is the Sabbaday Falls.

The property has a brand new wing, that is very nice. What we didn’t like: had to walk about a mile to get to the ice machine ! I booked a room with Full Kitchen and there was no stove or freezer! I wasn’t planning on cooking so it was OK, but if I had had any ice cream or plans to have scrambled eggs in the morning, it wouldn’t have worked. It has a fridge, toaster, coffee maker and microwave and utensils, cutlery dishes and glassware, but again… in my mind, a full kitchen requires a freezer and something to cook on, other than a microwave

What a fantastic resort! 2 restaurants on site. Our suite was beautifully furnished! Great food in both restaurants too. A great stay with our friends. The two suites that joined together was the perfect for our stay with another couple as we each had our own private bedroom and bathroom.

We were pleased with our suite and were surprised that the kitchen had all of the essentials for cooking, and was well-appropriated. Our bed and room were comfortable, with a closet and bureau for our personal effects. The living room had a couch, two stuffed chairs, a fireplace with an electrical fire, and the television was above it. There was also a dining area, with a table with six chairs. They tried their best to make us feel at home and I recommend the River Walk Resort at Loon Mountain.
