Trying, but fell short
Nice hotel. Trying to be good, but mant little things fell short of the mark. Not much storage in room, no bedside cabinet. No water etc in relaxation room. Sauna not set up when booked for. Restaurant not as good as what you pay for. One member of staff was on duty to cater for all, and was not nearly well trained enough or up to the tasks.

Property looks like a renovated period property in online pictures but most of the rooms are in a modern wing. Our room had no view and was quite noisy at night. There was an extensive power outage during the second night of our stay and no breakfast was served the following morning. Staff said this was a safety issue with food not being refrigerated for a number of hours but we felt they could have at least offered some non perishable items... bread, dry cereal, etc. To be fair, they did offer us compensation for not offering breakfast that morning.

Very charming hotel on the hill with a quaint garden and view of the bay. Nice higher end room. Wonderful staff.

4/10 Fair

While the hotel’s interior design is commendable and its location convenient being close to the town centre, my overall experience was far from satisfactory. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. Shower water pressure was extremely weak, likely due to an inadequate supply system. Given the price the hotel charged, such issues should not occur. Additionally, the sound of flushing from other rooms was clearly audible, indicating poor bathroom design. Breakfast was another letdown. The presentation was unappealing and food was excessively salty. Furthermore, the absence of a lift means guests must carry their luggage up and down the stairs which is highly inconvenient. Overall, this hotel does not justify its price. I would not recommend booking a stay here.

Excellent customer service and breakfast, but small room space if considering the price you pay for.

My husband and I stayed at th Marmalade in Portree for two nights. The room was comfortable. We even got a cute little gift from the staff because I mentioned it was our 10 year anniversary! Nice touch!

Overall, very good, but...
Overall very good but... The breakfast was amazingly good but we ate elsewhere in the evening because the evening menu was very poor for vegetarians. Also, the window in our room did not shut fully which made it a bit noisy as we were above the kitchen extractors. The staff were attentive so have probably fixed it now.

It's nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and gave recommendations on wait to do on Isle of Skye. The rooms were large and peaceful. You'll enjoy your stay here.

Our stay was ok but no better than that. Hotel is grossly overpriced for the facilities it has. Staff were nice and location is good. Restaurant menu is quite limited. Room was okay but you expect better at this price

Cozy, comfortable, and stylish
The hotel was so cozy and comfortable. Very nicely decorated and great beds and chairs in the rooms. Everything was spotless. The staff were really accommodating despite all of our off the wall requests. So much care is put into the food, it would fit in easily with any upscale New York City cafe.
