One night stay
We stayed for one night. There were 2 very large dogs (huskies?) laying across the main doorway to reception which had to be navigated to get in. The receptionist gave us the impression that this was a doggie hotel first and foremost, but did offer to move them out of the way if they became a nuisance. The room was a good size and had a fun element to it however, I found a bag of rubbish tied in a carrier behind the sofa (which was very uncomfortable to sit on). The mattress was made of foam and didn't have a protector on it. The throw on the bed had stains on it. The bath was good and the water was hot. Watching TV in the bath was a new experience! Sadly the candle holders were empty! Breakfast was good, staff were nice. Parking was good.

Dog friendly hotel
Weird hotel, room looked suitable for filming budget movies with 2 chandeliers and interesting artwork. Wasn't particularly clean, there were a large number of fruit flies in the room. Hotel manager was really nice, very dog friendly. Food was ok. Hotel was not expensive. Wasn't bad but i don't think I'd stay here again

Reasonable value, staff pleasant/helpful
Large hotel with large free parking area. Pub and restaurant had little character and appeared set up with weddings in mind. Room was large and comfortable. Only had breakfast at the hotel.

2/10 Poor

Very old, extremely sad and dilapidated accommodations throughout. Pervasive aroma of wet dog. Shower was an ancient slippy, boiling hot dangerous death trap. Bonus: Was also attacked by their giant, free roaming angry dogs inside an empty reception space... yep, not at all terrifying. Owners offered Prosecco, and promised the dog would receive more training. We refused their offer of cheap fizzy wine, but did encourage the owners to pursue basic hospitality training options — for all involved. Owners ought strongly consider reopening as a kennel — it would do really well! Hard pass for humans.

The stay was ok for 1 night, but wouldn’t want to stay for a week. Dog hairs in the foyer. Slow to restock the breakfast buffet. The place needs a refurb. Dated and tired. Leak in foyer, but unable to find the source (been an issue for a while) Disabled parking used by non-disabled drivers and workmen.

On arrival I was booked in efficiently and in a friendly manner. The setting was convenient from the A303 and was quiet despite being so close. Good breakfast in the morning.

Sufficient for our one night stay.
Hotel is quirky and quite tired in places. You can see effort has been put in, but really to a professional standard. Breakfast was a buffet English Breakfast which was good. Rooms were really quite hot and no Aircon and fan in bathroom did not work. Tea and coffee is supplied in the room. There are two large dogs roaming constantly, they are extremely docile but had we known before hand, we would not have booked for this reason. We were only told on arrival.
