Staff and sound both lacking
As a Hotel.com silver member I was entitled to free valet parking. I had to remind the staff twice in the ~12 hours I was there not to charge me for this, and it wasn't even valet it was self-park (significantly less convenient). At checkout there were no pleasantries whatsoever - no 'how was your evening', 'did you have a good stay', 'how did you sleep' - just another attempt at charging me for parking. If they had asked me how my night was I would have then complained about their total lack of soundproofing. On the same floor as me were 4 people who had obviously been out on the town for the night and screamed all through the corridors when they got in at whatever time in the morning. I had to get up at 4.30am to catch the ferry to Picton. Was not impressed.

oved it!!
Staff were lovely, very accommodating i ask for a shower chair and they found me one pretty quick...I'm wheelchair bound but was in a premium stuite that had ample space for me to move around in. We were on the 23rd floor the views were amazing, rooms were clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable. Loved soo much ive made booking to go back in October.

Disappointed
It was just a number of small things that let down the stay. 1. Main light in room did not work. Spoke to floor staff member and she had it sorted by the time we got back. Which was good. 2. Needed a shower before bed. No water at all from hot taps. Was sorted about midnight. 3. There was a party in room across hall. Doors need better sound proofing. 4. Only one shampoo etc in room for two people. 5. Massive shower which was good just terrible water pressure when hot water was back on. 6. Waited 10 minutes for coffee at breakfast. Asked for service then had 3 people come over. 7. Hot food at breakfast buffet was not hot enough. 8. Juice ran out at breakfast. Not a good look with guests tipping over dispensers to get last of juice.

A safe haven
I was in another hotel down the road. When I got there, found the front desk was being closed at 5.30 pm, there was no restaurant open and then the heating in the room did not work and I was freezing. Rang up Jimmy Cook, room much cheaper, all the home comforts. I evacuated myself. I was so pleased to be there! So the JC got excellent ratings from me on this occasion.

The hotel was freezing. Luckilly we were able to get a fan heater from reception to warm our room. Everything else was fine except the steaks were overdone.

great location
Comfortable and clean. Soundproofing is not good so neighbours with loud voices until very late meant a very late night before sleep. Convenient location, reasonable price, friendly staff, easy parking.

Requested a lavender pillow and received it within minutes, impressive. Loved the toiletries. If you order a taxi from reception allow for up to 20 minutes.
