Weekend visiting daughter.
Handy location on The Terrace close to the city but quiet. The bathroom was modern but water from shower flooded onto the floor, not well designed.

Poor 2.0
The bedroom windows were filthy and the view ,for which I had chosen to stay at this hotel was totally obscured The staffs response was that they were cleaned each quarter and there was nothing they could do except show us other rooms which had the same problem There had obviously been a lot of complaints about this I worked for an international bank and have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never had an experience as bad as this

Courteous, responsive staff. We liked the hotel’s style. Rooms a bit on the small side, but still comfortable

medioca accommodation
asked for early checkin but could not get in until 2.10pm one lift would not fit a wheelchair and a person in.had to fold wheelchair up which is back for the person in the chair having to stand instead of sitting in chair.

Loved it.
Excellent service. Willing to accommodate requests where possible. Indoor lap pool was clean and private. Amenities were top notch. Would definitely recommend a stay here whether for business or leisure as they can cater to any guest requirements, single traveller or conference group, they have it covered. Was also very quiet for being in the city and the black out drapes were very effective. Valet parking was efficient and secure but the hotel location means you could walk or lime scooter to the city centre in less time than it takes to order a coffee and a hot muffin from a cafe. A new favourite for me on my infrequent visits to Wellington.

Fav new hotel!
We loved our weekend stay at Grand Mercure! There was a beautiful view from our garden-facing room. The service was incredible and the team was very welcoming and polite. We were quite close to the city centre. We enjoyed all the amenities including pool and sauna--very relaxing!

Lovely stay
A wonderful stay, bed was comfortable and the decor modern and stylish. Couldn’t hear other guests or the lifts, the pool and sauna (and gym but didn’t use!) were empty when we used them and there were plenty of clean towels. The only small criticisms I have is that it makes no difference to noise levels whether the bathroom door was open or shut and our window was pretty dirty when the restaurant window (where we ate breakfast) directly underneath was spotless! Breakfast was lovely with loads of choice and staff were very polite and friendly.

Not best for business travel
Not in a great location if you want to be close to restaurants etc. No pad or pen in room and no lighting at all when entering, had to use mobile phone to find the light switch.
