No restaurant service no forward knowledge given
We arrived Sunday afternoon dinner in the restaurant closed at 8pm so we went to the bar 7.20ish for a drink and meal only to be told the restaurant was shut due to it being a quiet evening this meant driving 7 miles to find somewhere to eat
When I said we should have been informed of this when we checked in the receptionist advised she hadn’t known herself
We went for breakfast cold scrambled eggs dried up bacon aand a coffee machine not working did not improve my mood
On check out I asked to speak to a manager or in charge member of staff the receptionist enquired why and I explained the above. She then told me it was planned maintenance and there was a sign on reception . If I’d asked I would have been told this
I now have been told 2 different reasons for the restaurant being closed
If this was planned then I feel this information should have been emailed to me so we could have either brought cold snacks or more likely changed our booking
I was left with the impression that it was our fault and we should have understood these things happen
Felt really let down with the service we were given and how this matter was handled
