This is a freat sight seeing place. Bare bones in that if you are looking for luxury do not go here. The accomidations could you some upfrading in the daycets and toilets leak, but all in all work fine. No tvs and wi fi spotty if you can get on. Looking forward to going back as the area is spectaculer.

Far View is a great location
Great location. The restaurant was good, but book ahead if you expect a table. Bus groups take up the majority of bookings so very little for those who drive there. Front desk reception was poor. The guy checkin us in was more interested in telling us how he was doing us a favour rather than helping out. Needs to learn to listen! Room comfortable and lovely view of the sunset for us. Floors need a clean.

Enjoyed our stay
The room was a nice size with comfortable bed. We had a small balcony with a couple of chairs which we sat on at night, which was a nice surprize. It was nice to not have to drive the 1/2hr. to park entrance and then to town after walking trails etc. in heat...but to just be able to relax in park. We had no choice but to eat in metate (their resturant) because that was the only place opened to eat for dinner. Luckily, we were able to get a reservation 15 min. after our arrival, otherwise we'd have to wait till 8p for next available opening. There were prepackaged wraps or salads in lobby fridge that some others that were not so lucky re: reservations could purchase for dinner. Though the food was good in restaurant...it was pricy & i could see that many people would not like the limited menu. I originally planned on eating at the far view lounge...but it was closed, although, according to website, it was still suppose to be a dining option when we were there. We had breakfast at spruce terrace first morning. It was terrible. And expensive. They rushed you through and everything was ice cold. The only choice was already cooked scrambled eggs...no other options. Staff kinda gruff. Luckily, we were there 2 nights and had a delicious breakfast in town (for half the cost) on our way to our next destination.

Beautiful views
We've stayed before and love the location and views. We were very late in the season so amenities are limited, but it is less crowded. The staff hustled to make sure all was well. Would recommend.

Slim Pickings
There is only one hotel at Mesa Verde, so what are you going to do? The room is old and very worn out. The staff is not very knowledgeable. The manager was great and helped us with our room switch, that was very good. Our dinner was excellent! Only one restaurant open for dinner. Slim pickings.

Mice at Mesa Verde
Twice I encountered an aggressive and abusive clerk at the registration desk. She put on a loud argumentative show on two separate occasions. I don’t know the reason for the first, but the second was prompted by a guest couple who complained about mice in the room , including dead ones. A second couple in the same building moved out because of mice in their room. By the third night the mice in our room had invaded our bed! It appeared that they simply rented the three rooms right away with little or no attention to the mice! Other than that, the room was pleasant. Rodents in a premium priced room is unacceptable, however.

In the park but not sure it is worth it.
Rude staff. Mouse in the wall. The service room beside ours was overflowing with dirty dishes so smelled. EV charger is broken and has been down for awhile. Restaurant on site is priced like a Steakhouse but quality and service is Pizza Hut.

Nice for the only accommodations in the park
Stayed for one night while visiting Mesa Verde NP. Checkin was reasonably smooth, the room was small but very nice. The room phone didn’t work which was an issue since we were traveling with friends and cell service is non-existent in the area. It was explained to me that there was a recent lightning storm that caused some damage so not really their fault though we were not made aware of the potential issue. For some reason we thought there was no WiFi but WiFi is available and works well which, once we realized that it was available mitigated the communication problem. Was able to get a reservation at their restaurant and had a nice dinner. Our room had a beautiful sunset view which we were able to enjoy from the small balcony with a southwesterly view.

A very quiet place, natural, a bit other-worldly which is suitable for this ancient place. People here were all quiet and respectful. We would have liked to have a shower mat for the floor for stepping out of the shower. Our king bed unit is very small with little space for storing our 2 suitcases. Our king bed was super comfortable. We liked the environmental friendliness, even the waste baskets are metal, not plastic. Large windows looking out over the environment is nice and the deck outside our unit was very nice and relaxing to sit on and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the beautiful sunset. The lounge was a great place to eat dinner, the menu had good options and the food was very good; the bartender did a super job despite being short-staffed and the only person taking orders and making-serving drinks, and there was also a food server who helped clear the tables. Despite this, they kept things flowing well and were very friendly. The restaurant does require reservations and we weren't able to make those in time to eat there by dinner time. But the restaurant hostess was very friendly and as accommodating as possible. WIFI is very spotty, cell service is very poor, due to the remote location. Parking is ample in all areas. The Fairview Terrace cafe and Spruce House cafe don't offer a large variety of foods, but the servers are very friendly, food was good, the young woman making our omelets was very friendly, organized, and attentive to details.

Not as advertised
Wonderful view but lights around the property were too bright for labeling themselves as a dark sky property. The internet did not work at all on any of our phones, even in the lobby. The lounge was the only place we could get food and they were severely understaffed. Our tub was so slick, I almost fell in the shower. The accommodations are not worth the pricey National park lodge price

Very rustic, no TV, beds seemed old not very comfortable. Beautiful views. Very strict on their 4:00 check-in. Group of people waiting in lobby and at 10:00 to 4:00 she finally started to let people in to their rooms. Would not stay there again

Cold water tap broken. Poor, broken shower containers. Door let in wind. After calling the first morning and letting someone know, nothing was done to fix the problems. Expensive, understandable, but no one cared to do anything about it while we were there. Good dinner.
