Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was warm and clean, but very characteristically period european rather than modern european furnishing. This added to the character and charm, but with a dated charm are also some features that would benefit from rejuvination. A fully functional hotel, comfortable and safe and at the higher end of the price bracket.

Elderly but decent hotel
The hotel is in a mostly residential area far from the touristy parts of Brussels. Staff are very friendly, smiley and helpful, although I had to remind them twice to deliver a chair to my room as there was nowhere to sit at the desk. The room was comfortable enough - especially the bed - but it has seen better days: furniture was old and chipped, a cupboard door would not close properly, the water flow from the shower was extremely weak and dribbly, and the temperature of the water fluctuated unpredictably between scorching hot and tepid. Finally, the a/c did not work effectively for cooling the room and did not seem to work at all for heating: the lights were on, but nothing happened. Overall, I would say the hotel is good but old and needs maintenance.
