A Great Affordable Stay
Good quality overall. APA is my top choice for an affordable stay—you get everything you need. The TV’s excellent projection feature is a standout, something not commonly available in most other hotels.I wish APA would offer membership programs to international visitors.

It was an ok stay. I prefer someone helping at check in versus the automated type. It ends up where we have to ask for help anyway.

The rooms are hot and you’re stuck with that.
The room was hot, you can’t turn off the heat. It seems the whole hotel has a set temperature and it was hot and stuffy, you are forced to endure very hot room.

Compact, convenient business hotel with Onsen Spa
Compact, convenient business hotel 5min from JR Ueno station and subway stations. Room is super compact as a typical central Tokyo business hotel. The 5-star feature of this hotel is top of the building Onsen-Spa. It has three soaking area with different temperature both in indoor and terrace area (fully covered but get outside breeze). Very relaxing temperatures and very clean. Our too computer shows if it is crowded or not and it is open up to midnight ( I thought). Also it is very clean.

Really like the hotel. Room was small as per western standard, but well equipped: bath tub, Japanese toilet, nice big TV with BBC and a few (English) movies on demand (Free), luggage storage under the bed. Internet was good. Optional breakfast was also good. My favorite part was probably the “bath” on the top floor. Automated Check in was a pain (did not work), but that’s minor. From Narita airport took the Keisei Skyliner, it was a doable walk with luggage. The hotel is fairly closed to the Metro, about 20 meter from Exit 3. I then left taking the Shinkansen (bullet train): from the hotel, to Metro, to Tokyo station, it took me 1 hour.

Typical Japanese business hotel, nothing special
Typical Japanese business hotel. Front desk receptionist was missing when I arrived, found her eventually, not overly friendly. The room had a funky aroma. It served its purpose but I’ll look elsewhere next time.

4/10 Fair

Disappointing Stay and not up to Japan standard
My recent stay at the APA Hotel was quite disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience to help future guests make an informed decision. **Check-In Process:** The check-in process was unnecessarily confusing due to the kiosk system. It was not user-friendly, and there was little assistance available to help navigate the process, which added to the frustration after a long journey. **Room Condition:** The room was very humid and had an unpleasant smell. It was clear that the ventilation was inadequate. The bathroom was even worse, with a strong odor of urine that made it quite uncomfortable to use. **Breakfast:** The breakfast was mediocre at best. Compared to previous stays, the quality has significantly declined. The breakfast restaurant was tiny and felt cramped, making the dining experience less enjoyable. **Hot-Spring:** The rooftop hot-spring was one of the few redeeming features, but it too had an unwanted smell that detracted from the experience. **Overall Experience:** Overall, my stay at APA Hotel was disappointing. Considering the price they charge, I expected much better. I would recommend staying at Dormy Inn instead, as they offer a much better experience for a similar price point. I hope this review helps others in making a better choice for their stay.

Really helpful staff, rooms were good, and liked that they had the TV's set up in both Japanese and English. The only thing I didn't like was the extremely long wait for breakfast, and that they wouldn't provide a fork. I didn't even bother going to breakfast after the first day, even though I paid for it.
