Off all the chain hotels we stayed in in Japan, this is our favorite, so much so that we plan to look for Daiwa hotels now when we book for future trips. Nice big lobby, bilingual staff, easy check in/out with automation, nice rooms, modern and larger bathroom. Everything seemed upgrade level. Definitely enjoyed staying there and it was near the station with lots of eateries to choose from.

We enjoyed our stay at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Morioka Ekimae. The hotel is a short walk from the Morioka station, via the underground passage. The hotel is new and modern and we had a room on the 7th floor which was very quiet. The staff are friendly and competent. The bed is very firm but sleeping was not a problem. The overhead rain shower was very nice. The buffet breakfast was quite good with Japanese and western options like bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, croissants, yoghurt, fruit and cereal .

I missed checking in because I did not catch the shinkansen. Nevertheless, when I called to try to cancel, the lady at the other end of the line was extremely helpful and did her best to provide the best service. Although cancellation was not possible because it was done through Expedia (who by the way was not responsive at all), they offered to accommodate us the next morning to eat breakfast and stay in the room until checkout time st 11AM.
