This is our second stay at the Pillar Inn. The first time we booked the entire house with our children for my wife’s birthday. Sue, the innkeeper, made great conversation and truly knows what hospitality means. Jill, one of the owners, remembered our previous stay and communicates before we even did regarding breakfast allergies, etc. we were very impressed. This property has full breakfast only on weekends, just to note. They are set out beautifully with fine china. She is an amazing cook and has a very keen eye for detail. We stayed in the Grand Suite, as we did last time. Which has a cute porch on the second level with a little bistro set. The bed is extremely comfortable (one of the main points for us) and tub is more than large enough for two adults side by side relaxing. Another favorite a lot in the house is a little snack room with teas and popcorn, seating, a fridge, etc. it is a very nice touch to a house that’s unattended most of the evening (unlike a hotel). The grounds are pretty and we loved the wrap around porch. The area is pretty quiet, as in not a lot of traffic due to the location, however, there is a bar next door behind a thick lot of trees. It can’t be seen, but it can be heard if people are outside. If that’s your thing, easy access. But the grounds are still large and very private. We will be back again.

I count on The Pillar Inn as my home away from home when I visit my mother. Jill and Susan could not be more attentive and respectful. The Pillar Inn is a relaxing step back to another time. I heartily recommend a stay!

I have stayed at The Pillar Inn on multiple occasions and call it a home away from home. Sue and Jill go out of their ways to make things as comfortable as possible. It is not another featureless hotel—it is an actual turn of the century home. My grown up kids stayed with me here this visit, and really enjoyed the ambiance. Thumbs up!!

The only issue was the dog in n the house when we arrived. The description said “ no pets” and it was the first thing that greeted us! My wife is allergic so this is an issue!

My only criticisms are relatively minor - a little annoying repeated queries about arrival time when I kept saying I couldn't say for certain. The exterior of the house also needs some more upkeep. But inside it was very nice and the staff/ owners are clearly trying successfully to provide a good, historically themed experience at a moderate price. I wish I could have gi a 4.5 rating.

It was a very nice stay for a quick overnight. Our room, Casablanca, was furnished nicely and cool with the AC. The bathroom was huge and the bed was very comfortable. We took advantage of coffee the next morning in their hospitality room. It’s a beautiful home inside, lots to look at! The exterior needs a little TLC including cleaning, maintenance and paint. The wrap around porch wasn’t inviting; old and worn furniture, cigarette butts in a can, dirty.
