Description: Luxury 2 bedroom Lakeview. Pet friendly hotel connected to the convention centre in Downtown Toronto with 4 indoor swimming pools
Reality: Expedia, do you even vet these properties before you allow them on your site? I'll start by saying that it's not the worst place I've ever stayed, far from it, but there are definitely some inaccuracies in the description.
"Luxury" - no. The dryer doesn't work, the kitchen sink handle fell off in my daughters hand when she turned on the tap, the place smells of burnt plastic, the furniture is worn and sagging, we found someone's used false fingernails by the tv.
"Four indoor pools". There aren't four pools. There is one. And short term guests aren't allowed to use it for "insurance reasons".
"Connected to the Convention Center" - no it's not. It's a 15 minute outdoor walk.
I don't want to be all negative so I'll end with this: the view is gorgeous, there's a great brunch place right next door (The Morning After) and it was reasonably priced for downtown Toronto.
