I had high expectations for this hotel based on my positive experiences with other hotels in the chain. The staff was excellent, the food was spectacular, and the rooms were a decent size and clean. However, the property is showing its age, with some issues like roaches which I experienced and bedbugs reported by guests. The beach access was disappointing, accessible only through a dock. It Is rocky posing a risk of injury from sharp coral. The signage was inadequate, causing confusion for guests navigating the property.
Despite these drawbacks, the bartenders Isidro and Orlando, as well as the waitstaff, provided exceptional service. The food was enjoyable, with standout dishes like the tortilla soup at the "Dos Marias" restaurant. The entertainment staff was friendly and talented, although the theater was uncomfortably warm. Overall, the staff's dedication and the enjoyable activities helped make up for the hotel's shortcomings. With some improvements, such as better beach access, the hotel could easily earn a higher rating.
