Uber is prevalent, but we really enjoyed having a dedicated driver at a reasonable cost. We used Tony Kioi +254 723 497894 on WhatsApp. Book ahead for the Elephant Orphanage because it sells out (fixed visit from 11a-12p)- but a great experience.

Always go to the giraffe compound. You get to feed the giraffes and it really fun. Especially for kids. Coffee Connect is one of the better coffee shops, restaurants are tricky. Lots of local food but there are some in Nairobi that are very good.

Tourists do need to be very careful in Nairobi as a whole. It is not safe to be walking around, especially at night. But UBER can be used for cheap taxi services and is really fast and efficient.

Apart from the city's never-before-seen evening traffic congestion, it's a great place, proving many choices : shopping malls, great restaurants, great clubs, beautiful natural flower markets, great craft shops etc

Westlands is close to most business centres and easy to get too from the airport due to the new highway. Uber is easy to book and I never had any issues. Just note that using the new highway requires an additional toll of 400 KES

There is a lot to see and do in Nairobi, but be aware that the city is quite large and spread out and many of the attractions such as the Karen Blixen Homestead will take you well over an hour to reach from the hotel.

It was a great experience being in Nairobi however it's quite obvious they don't spend a lot on building tourism apart from Safaris. People are lovely and helpful.

Wonderful city, climate is phenomenal, gateway to safaris, all the modern amenities, felt very safe compared to its reputation (at least in the area I was).

Well, people are nice, but there is a general concern for safely, phone/purse snatchings, but then not a whole lot different than London, I suppose.
"We've stayed here twice. Both times for a brief layover. The first was only for a few hours and staff work us up early by mistake. We are satisfied how the management dealt with the issue. Regardless, the design of the flooring transmits noises from above very easily so in both our stays we could hear the people in the unit above us as they moved around. It didn't wake us up, but when we were awake it bothered us."
"Really like the look and feel of this hotel. Have stayed here before when in Nairobi. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food consistently good. I feel like the food is a bit overpriced but it is definitely good and good portions. The alcoholic beverages are quite reasonable though with the exception of the wine. A glass of wine is very expensive and overpriced. A great experience overall "
"We had a great stay at the Hilton. They were very kind and attentive. I had requested an extra bed and they had it all set up and ready by the time we checked in. Great staff!! "
