8/10 Good
"A nice boutique hotel in Providencia, a safe and convenient area for tourists with several cafés and restaurants nearby. The premises and rooms were spotless, with housekeeping done well each day. The room itself was quite small—less spacious than expected—but functional, with a fridge and kettle provided. Guests can refill water bottles at the dispenser in the lobby. Most of the staff were pleasant and friendly. I didn’t include breakfast in my stay but tried the hotel restaurant twice; the food was fine, though Santiago offers better options."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Santiago

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Santiago is during May, June, and September, when hotel prices are lower. For those on a budget, staying for at least 3 to 4 days is recommended to fully immerse yourself in the city's rich history and vibrant culture. During your visit, you can explore historic landmarks, enjoy live music, relax in charming cafes, experience local festivals, and visit several museums. With plenty of shopping and dining options, Santiago offers great value for money, making it an ideal destination for both urban explorers and cultural enthusiasts.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for accommodation in Santiago, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities for great savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature available in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. This way, if prices drop or new rooms become available, you can book your cheap getaway promptly.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a Santiago hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we can suggest more economical dates, which may help you secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Santiago's fantastic public transport system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there’s often great value for money to be had. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
