It's fine for what it is. Pros: it's nice they have a gas station and a little store right at the top of the hill. The lodge down at the bottom of the hill is a nice amenity, you can use the Wi-Fi for free, restrooms, there's a little creek right there, and of course it's air-conditioned. Nothing really going on there, just a good place to sit on the porch and catch up on your stuff on your phone. It's also nice that it's only about 5 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park, which was my whole reason for visiting the area.
Cons: I wasn't aware that there was no air-conditioning in the bunkhouse. I don't know if they just don't make it clear, or I missed it. Fortunately, it's still nice and cool at night , and I was gone most of the time during the day. It's a constant struggle to find a way to use the bathroom. For the whole bunkhouse area, as far as I know, there was only one bathroom with two showers, one toilet, one urinal and one sink. There were bathrooms down in the lodge, but that was like half a mile away. Also, this entire area has connectivity as an issue. There's absolutely zero cell phone reception. They have some Wi-Fi, but it's completely unreliable. I even paid extra and sometimes it is up sometimes it is down. Even when it was up, it totally sucked . Someone who needs to stay connected for whatever reason for example most of my vacations are working vacations. This is not the place for you.
