A Restful Stau
The property is well cared for. The Browning suite was lovely. Comforts of home kinds of furnishings and very clean. They are also pet friendly there. Just be sure to talk to Clare so they can help you arrange for pet care.

The room was exceedingly nice!! The location is good too, because it is very quiet and is walking distance to the lake. The Inn supplies Kayaks at no charge and we took advantage of that! Claire manages the Inn and is very personable, plus it seems she is always available (Thanks Claire!).

Lovely but dated
Disappointed that breakfast was not offered. Local restaurants served lunch and dinner only. Property is easy to locate and a lovely couple run the Inn, but it is in need of updates. We had beautiful weather and the leaves were just starting to change.

A hidden getaway
A mix of elegant and eclectic, the Inn does not disappoint. Morning breakfast is delicious and the giant tub and beautiful views all make this a beautiful place to stay either for a special occasion or just because you want to see the birds and the trees.

Lovely get-away
It was lovely. Just a little disappointed we weren't staying in the only building they show in their ads. The staff was wonderful. The area gorgeous. Just what we needed!

Beautiful surprise in the North Carolina mountains
Very beautiful place in the mountains with a bit of a view of the lake. The breakfasts were wonderful. The hotel staff was excellent. We took advantage of the champagne cruise, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great place for a bed and breakfast. We look forward to going again -- maybe late spring or early summer when the rhododendrons are blooming and the waterfalls are running with more water.

A great place for a quiet getaway
I stayed in the Lord Tennyson room and truly enjoyed my stay. I went for a quiet getaway weekend and that is what I got. The room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. There was a coffee maker and small refrig. The large shower and tub have a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious! My favorite area was the private balcony with a small table and comfortable chairs. Totally private. The only time I heard anyone was when the couple below me was on their balcony when I was on mine. The Lord Tennyson room is not in the main house but is the top floor of the Garden House. The view was of beautiful trees but I could not see the lake in late summer; you might be able to see the lake during other seasons, but not summer time because of the trees. I have AT&T cell service and could only get one bar of service and then only once in while. My weekend was a solo trip and I felt completely safe (I'm female). I will go back the next time I need a weekend away.

1 nite stay in the mountains
Very nice place, friendly owners. You check in at the big Victorian house but don't stay there or use it. They have several cottages down the hill where you stay. We were in the Robert Browning suite - plenty of room, full kitchen, comfortable bed. Afternoon wine & cheese plate and good breakfast delivered to your suite. Patio overlooks trees that obscure the lake. Quiet and secluded.
