We were greeted by a very friendly woman and all of the other people working here were extremely friendly and helpful! Our room was very clean and the bed, very comfortable. We made a snap decision to get off the highway and go to Bar Harbor on our way home from Presque Isle. We chose the Anchorage because it’s within walking distance to everything in town and 7 minutes away from the park. The price is exactly right for what you get which is a clean room, clean sheets and a shower. The front desk ladies were lovely and they had coffee in the am. Perfect for us for just a night of sleep and a shower.

The Anchorage was perfect for our 4-night stay. Convenient to shops & restaurants, easy parking, straight shot out of town across the island / into Acadia. HOT shower, perfect after a chilly hike. The service was outstanding & the lobby coffee was surprisingly good. Susie was such a huge help & gave us great ideas for the day when a storm upended our plans. If it’s your first visit to Bar Harbor, you’ll sort of realize that like many / most of the hotels on the island, the building isn’t new. Renovated & clean, but not new. It’s just a different vibe & if you know that going in, you’ll have a great time.

Motel is a cute older-style motel with no-frills rooms. Rooms are safe, clean, comfortable, and good sized! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations around town.
