Highlight of our japan stay by far! Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Our private onsen bath was sensational. Staff are exceptionally helpful! Would give this 11/10 if I could!!

Family of 4 in Hakone
The service of staff were sub-par. The room was spacious and clean. Very decently sized for our family of 4. The onsen and dinner provided were average. Will consider other ryokan option in future.

Fair 4.0
Not worth it
I was very disappointed with my stay at Laforet. At check in I was told that my reservation included dinner which I was not notified of on I told them I had dietary restrictions to which they said was not a problem. However, at dinner I had to pay extra because of my dietary restrictions?? The king bed in the room was 2 twin beds pushed together with seperate linens so my husband and I slept separately in twin beds. While we were sleeping were heard kids running and playing in the hallway twice. There was even a 7-8 year old little boy in the Women's hot spring where there were nude women. It was extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend a stay at this hotel

Amazing Service, Great Room/Price. Will book again
We originally booked the stay for a larger, deluxe room. However, after the typhoon passed, there were pipes in the area that were broken and couldn't deliver the hot spring water to the ryokan. The staff was friendly and let us cancel our reservation without hesitation (even a day before). We decided to book a smaller room at the same ryokan and it was great. The photos do not do the rooms justice. They are modern and huge in comparison to other Japan hotels. I highly recommend staying at Laforet with the breakfast option included!

Very good 8.0
Great hotel but overpriced still
The onsen is nothing to write home about. Very small and not interesting for both genders, especially the men’s area. The open air bath in the bigger rooms however is very nice. Service is excellent and the dinner and breakfast is good and tasty. The location is excellent with free pickups but it’s also close to the train station. Hotel seems a bit overpriced despite all this, and I’m not sure if I would stay here again. Would probably look for a different hotel at a lower price.

Great place to stay while exploring Hakone
Immaculate hotel, nice Japanese/western breakfast, very peaceful indoor/outdoor (all wood & bamboo) onsen

Very good 8.0
Great place but need to improve on service
The hotel is really nice, clean and well-kept. The have both indoor and outdoor onsen (bath) that is really nice. However, the additional 150 yen charged for each adult to use the onsen is really not necessary. Not to mention that I have to pay additional 1500 yen for my 5 year old son's dinner - even when I have indicated the total number of people staying and their ages. These hidden costs should not even be included considering the amount we paid per night. Dinner is French Japanese fusion - not that great. I didn't quite like the spread.

Nice facility
Nice facility, short walk from 3rd cable car station. Traditional Japanese food was great. Service was good. Language barrier was a bit of a problem but that is true across Japan not just at this hotel.
