House away from home
The bath was working. Kitchen seems to work and they had some kind of water dispenser which supplies ice too. Not only the staff but guest seem to be kind too. There seem to be free luggage service but place on your own risk.

First off, this is a hostel and not a hotel. Room smelled like smoke (non-smoking room), facilities were not clean.

Really old run down hostel, NOT a hotel. It just felt dirty, especially the shared showers that are only available on the 1st floor with only 4 stalls for an entire building! Smelled like cigarettes EVERYWHERE too. Pay a little more and stay elsewhere, trust me!

Great place. The only downside is that there is only 1 bathroom on each floor, and 2 showers for each gender, for the whole hotel. When I was there, there weren’t too many people, never had to wait for a shower, but it could be if they were more booked.

Clean, no frills room at great price
Very affordable, low price gets you a clean, comfortable, basic room. Room is no frills, hotel is older, but it has all one needs to be at ease, comfortable. If one wants luxury, then pay for it! Staff at front desk was friendly. Japanese bath at ground level was nice.

Friendly staff, clean room but poor wifi
Read about the poor wifi on other reviews and brushed it off as exceptional situations but the wifi is really poor. I could barely stay connected to the network and ended up using my mobile data. I'd suggest that you get a pocket wifi if you're staying here because I was running low on data allowance. I have tried with 2 other devices but neither of them worked when the wifi is down.
Apart from the poor wifi, there's nothing I can fault the hotel on, it's located 1 min walk away from Doubutsuen mae station exit 4. Also near to the hanshin and JR shin imamiya station (about 10 min walk) that gives you access to the airport and the rest of Japan. Doubutsuen mae is just on the midosuji line which gives you access to Namba, Shinsaibashi and Umeda.
The bath for both genders is opened from 5:30 -9:30am and until 2am for the night sessions. There are 2 baths for 2 genders unlike some of the other hotels in the same area. But note that baths are small in size, there are 6 bathing area for the female bath, so sometimes you will need to stand in there awkwardly naked for your turn. It can get quite crowded on weekends, even at 12 midnight.
Proper drugstore shampoos are provided like your ichikami, dove and Pantene.
I would stay there again/ recommend it to my friends if the wifi is better but until then, I think there are similar hotels but with stronger wifi in that area.
