You get what you pay for
Budget accommodation for a reasonable price, downside is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Kind of like a hostel for older people/families

Great Hotel
Overall, its not bad especially for the price, quite comfortable bed with a shower, bathroom and toilet like a studio apartment except smaller size. I got a room thats for double occupancy + a climb up bed on top for the little one. Otherwise, really accessible to go to your room (elevator), dining area in the lobby with free coffee and tea and metal utensils/ceramic plates and microwave (if you choose to buy your own food at the supermarket and eat here). They also have a 24/7 pizza kitchen they make in the oven (£11.75 for 10” inch pizza). They also have disposable shaving kits for sale I think if you forget it. The location is really right next to the Tram station (2-5 min walk) that goes to the city centre and to the airport. Theres also a night bus stop to the airport if your flight is early in the morning. Cons of the room itself: -Toilet door looks like someone put plywood and made it as a outhouse type? anyways it was functional with privacy, why no sliding door?? also too close to the main door -Shower door.. why no sliding door!??? this huge door to open is outdated. Get sliding doors to save space -No specific space near the door to put dirty shoes, all the same tile flooring -No closet but small functional hangars -Table too small -No Refrigerator but thats most functional hotels (sometimes not needed but required for some people with chilled, prescribed medication for storage during travel). Otherwise, good rooms and service, would book again

All good for me
All good for me, room was comfortable and a good location for getting the tram in/out of Edinburgh. Not sure if the thermostat was stuck at 22degrees in the room as it didn't seem to let me change it, but didn't adversely affect my stay.

John from Suffolk
John from Suffolk - check in, welcome, room comfort, late bar and hot food excellent. Did though miss tea making in room and it's nowhere near Edinburgh Park. I arrived at rail station to find 25 min walk. Should be renamed Gyle & tram stop quoted as better approach.

Staff on arrival were professional and easy friendly - that’s rare these days. They appeared to be just a better quality than often found in budget hotels. They looked you in the eye and seemed to actually enjoy their job! I felt immediately happy to be there. They intentionally described all that was available during our stay and nothing was a bother. The room was spotless clean. It’s a new hotel so that helped. Placed in a business park means it’s peaceful and quiet. Right by the tram and shopping. You should describe that in your location on the hotel description! It’s a real selling point and you’re not promoting the tram, just a few stops to Edinburgh, the shops or the peace and you should! You should also promote the dining area- I wish we had known there was a microwave to use freely and the tea and coffee on tap 24 hrs - you need to promote these in the hotel description more evidently! It was so good to have these things! Loved the little attention to detail like picnic tables at the front and the jogging route map on the wall and the drinks fridge 24/7 and an umbrella loan stand. These are the things that make a hotel a home from home that cares! Overall you should be chuffed with yourselves- don’t let the corporate or aging with time let you loose this edge you have! Keep it fresh, keep being generous with facilities - you’re a breath of fresh air in a tired hotel world!

Firstly this is a budget hotel, so very limited choice of cold buffet breakfast and pizza/panini 24 hour availablity for a hot snack and a limited bar for a beer or two, BUT with that said, Hotel Ibis Budget is a perfect place to stay for events in Edinburgh, with a tram stop just a 4 minute walk!!! The hotel is warm, welcoming, exceptionally clean and the room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Really comfy bed, excellent shower and a TV, spot on. There's free tea and coffee in the lounge/foyer area and a lift to all floors. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and housekeeping is very good. There's a large Morrisons and shopping centre next to the tram stop. The location is superb, very quiet and very safe. We are definitely going to stay here again next time we visit Edinburgh.

Very basic but clean and comfy
Well situated, clean but very basic. It’s called a budget hotel and that is exactly what it is. Bed was comfortable, room had individually controlled heating, so that was a bonus. Plenty of hot water when showering. The rooms are extremely compact so would recommend you know your travelling companion very well. Free tea and coffee was a great bonus
