The people at reception weren’t great but the other guests at the hotel were lovely and made for a very enjoyable trip.

You get what you pay for
Early check in was great. No conversation to be made at check in he was on the phone while checking us in. Hot water took ages to come through. Lino lifting out front of bathroom and after a shower it was full of water. Told reception. They said we will let management know. No apology. Customer service poor.

I could handle the fact that the room is nostalgic to 1993 in almost every way - especially the smell and aesthetics - but I can't deal with concrete mattresses that have dirty sheets on them that leave rashes on my legs from mite bites. Pick your game up Astor Metropole, we won't be back

Old and broken
We unfortunately had a really poor experience. I was travelling solo with two young kids and a lot of luggage. First, our room key didn't work, so I had to go back to the front desk to have it reset. Then the TV was broken and didn't display the chanel (just sound and the menu guides). While we waited for maintenance we decided to try out the pool..... But it was closed because someone had dropped some glass or something in it. We went for a walk, and two hours later, the TV still hadn't been looked at. After going to reception again, the maintenance man arrived. He decided it was really broken. We were then offered smaller room with working tv. We packed everything up and went to the new room. Entering the room, I realized it only slept 2 (we were a group of 3). Then we were offered a third room. When we went to check it out it was in terrible condition. It smelled like cigarettes, had a large stain on the couch, and a burn hole in the curtain. I decided to take all our stuff back to the original room and forfeit the TV. The room wasn't in great condition, but the best of the 3. The view was spectacular. I liked the closeness to the train, however there is a very large hill to walk. Overall I was disappointed with my expense would not stay here again.

I was checking out this morning. And that thing at the desk. Almost abusing the guy she was talking to…. I said on my way out no thanks for all the money I spent. Just listening to that dog on the desk yelling. She has got to go. The level of rude is amazing. I just spent 400 for two nights. Not be abused the dirty European receptionist who most probably should just kill herself if she that miserable at work. When I pay dollars . I don’t want to deal with staff entitled or whoever. Shame on your business

The room I stay in smells soo bad and had 2 kids with me .The towels were left in fridge, the toilet was still dirty.. I ask to exchange to another room and one of the staff says nothing available. It’s more like a one star hotel.

Misleading advertising. While it looks nice from the photos and the street - don't be deceived. This property was old, dated, TV didn't work, lift didn't work, the restaurant, bar and pool have all been closed for years.
