After we walked our luggage from the train station we were met by the proprietor, we were told there was plumbing issues and that we would have to walk 5 mins... no apology, no offer for compansation, no help with bag, 5 mins turned into all the way across the city (had we known we would have taken ferry instead of hauling our large luggage through an over packed city with lots of steps) This is after emailing us the previous dy to find out when we would be there, which would have been the time to tell us we would not be staying in the place we rented. The place that we were put had no shared kitchen, no amenities, and the TINY bathroom didn't drain, very bad experience, with no apology or anything to make it right.

Clean and beautiful. Great location that is close to the train station. We also enjoyed the shared kitchen area and were grateful to store our luggage until our late afternoon train.

Very close to the train station. When you ring the buzzer, it's hard to hear over the speaker, but the property owner buzzed me in. There is no front desk, and I waited for about 10 minutes until the property owner arrived. The property is very clean and nicely renovated.

Good location, really great air conditioning. Modern and nice staff. We got lucky with our check in process as you needed to book a time to check in as there is no front desk. We were checked in immediately although it seems sometimes you have to wait.

Tiny room, SHARED kitchen and living area (misleading in their description), and thin walls (little to no privacy)

The location is amazing. From the main train station it’s just a quick walk over the first bridge, and a few turns before you’ve arrived. Signs marking the ferrovia make it easy to get back to the station or grand canal. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but rather small (though this is to be expected for Venice and most European cities at that). The main challenge we had was the check-in process. When you arrive at the loggia, there is a sign on the door with 2 phone numbers to contact the hosts and have them come let you in. Luckily, both my boyfriend and I had European SIM cards for the trip so we could call easily. But neither of the numbers worked and we were prompted by a message in Italian saying they were out of service. I tried a few other numbers I had on my confirmation and on their Expedia listing and finally was able to make contact with the host. She is very nice and welcoming, and once on the phone was helpful, but her English is limited. I speak Italian and that was how we communicated most easily, so if you only speak English I would recommend brushing up on a few key phrases before booking. Also note, there is a preference to pay cash on arrival for the room. We didn’t have the amount available and felt more comfortable processing payment through Expedia and our credit card, so we opted for that instead.
