Portland is admired for its riverfront and theatres, while top attractions include Oregon Convention Center and Moda Center. This artistic city has something for everyone including its gardens, restaurants and sights like Portland'5 Centers for the Arts and Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
I loved the creativity and general friendliness, new growth in old spaces and the innovative uses of these. The food is killer, its still affordable. Thrifting is what it used to be, "in my day", and the city is easy to navigate. Soggy. Crazy driving

Portland is very underrated destination. The whole downtown area is walkable, clean, upscale, and get this... not much foot traffic. There are many shops that appear to be brand new and/or upscale. Pricing is very affordable for a major city.

Sellwood area is interesting and Alberta and so many more areas tight in downtown PTl. walk and take public transport to take in all the nuances of Portland . I love how it has kept a lot of it's mid to early 20th century architecture & signage.

We took advantage of the 3 days we were visiting Portland and explored a lot, including the Oregon Zoo, Powell's City of Books, the aerial tram to the Oregon Health and Science University, and the Japanese Garden (recommend scheduling a tour).

Great food all over the city. Powell's City of Books is a must see every time. Lots of gay bars and queer life; I never feel unsafe being with my partner or expressing my gender however I wish. Driving is a hassle with all the one-way streets.

There was a beautiful park a block away that was peaceful, relaxing, and fun to hang out in. We went back to Via Delizia for a scrumptious dinner and delicious gelato, (just across the street from park). We didn't want to leave.

I really like Portland, there are different areas that are very nice to explore, good restaurants, coffee shops and stores. It is my third time in Portland and every time there is something new that I did not see the last time.

Best restaurants, Portland can be iffy in areas but their food scene is amazing and you just have to look for all the quirky and hidden gems. Oregon is a beautiful state and the river and Mountain Views are awesome

Beautiful views of Mt. Hood on clear days, nice architecture, excellent restaurants, great public transportation system, beautiful rainbow on partly rainy day. Pioneer Square had a beautiful Christmas tree.
"Great hotel! We liked the cozy design and the local art. It was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant had great food. The staff was very friendly, and the valet parking was an excellent added service. The location was convenient, but the staff also made it feel very safe, and the rooms were quiet. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to others! "
"The grout in the bathroom could have been cleaned better. The tv remote and phone were dirty. The tub was overly slippery, it required rinsing off.
The bed was comfortable and room spacious. The pre-registration process was so very impersonal and inconvenient because I still had to check in at the front desk. I didn’t like the pre-registration process because I had to submit a picture ID and credit card information and at check in, I had to do it again."
"What an amazing stay! The hotel hospitality was friendly, welcoming, professional, and knowledgable about the area. The fault rate included a make to order breakfast each day and the food and servers were so attentive to detail. Great food and an amazing variety. Included in the stay was a complimentary welcome social with appetizers and beverages. Great way to end a long day. I highly recommend Embassy Suites and Inns for travelers looking for a complete and enjoyable stay!"
"We had such a great stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton near the Lloyd Center! Right from check-in, everything felt warm and welcoming. They even give you fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies — such a nice touch!
One of the best parts was the outdoor pool. We went swimming and really enjoyed it — it’s perfect for families and a great way to relax. We also ate at the buffet they have on-site, which made things super easy and tasty, especially with kids.
Our room had a balcony, which made the stay feel even more special. The elevators are really cool too — you can see out as you ride up, which the kids thought was awesome.
Everything about the stay felt clean, safe, and very family-friendly. It’s a great spot for both kids and adults, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, comfortable hotel in Portland!
