Horrible experience
Me and my family got off a cruise ship in Miami at 7:30 in the morning. Made it to the hotel by 8 AM. I knew to check in would not be possible that early. The front desk did see if there was a room readily an available for us and there was not he told me he would make our room a first priority and that checkout was at 11. Let’s try back around 12 1230 so we checked our bags with valet And took a stroll down to Fort Lauderdale Beach and had lunch came back about 1230 to 1 o’clock, still no luck on a room meanwhile, they were checking in other guest while we sat in their lobby for hours waiting for our room. Did not get to check in till 3 PM. It seemed like there was no communication with the housekeeping staff for a priority. They did not offer us a different style room to get us in quicker. We were falling asleep in their lobby while we waited after an exhausting week the next morning when we woke up, we noticed that housekeeping was already cleaning rooms by 9 AM so I’m not sure how they could not figure that out the day before the beds were not comfortable the pillows were cheap was a nice area and a historical hotel but I’ve been at way better hotels, especially for the price. I would never come back and I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Wonderful venue!
Beautiful roomy accommodations across from water taxi canal. Boathouse restaurant for dinner & hotel restaurant for breakfast—both excellent for food & service. Highly recommend thus venue on Las Olas!

The Riverside Fort Lauderdale
The lobby of the Riverside was beautiful & beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our check-in was efficient but not very friendly. Our accessible room (#1012) was large, very clean & quiet. The queen size mattresses were on king size wooden platforms which made for overhangs on three sides. These overhangs were quite dangerous for my husband who has mobility issues. The carpet outside our room needed to be vacuumed as well as shampooed as it was very dirty. The valet staff were very friendly & helpful. The Ocean Surf restaurant inside the hotel provided wonderful service & delicious food. The Waterfront Restaurant across the street from the hotel did not provide good service & the food was mediocre. The Riverside is across the street from the river walk & river cruises.

Christmas boat parade trip
This hotel is very quaint with amazing ambiance and charm especially in the lobby with the 2 fireplaces. We were there for the Christmas boat parade and could watch from our room even though we didn’t have a balcony. The hotel is right on the river and it was fun to watch all the boats going by. The restaurant and pool are also on the river. Pretty white lights on the tress around the property. The food at the restaurant was very good. Hotel staff was very friendly. Our room was very large but lacked charm. We plan to be back.

Grand with great staff but outdated amenities
We always come a night before our cruise. We were hoping this was the winning hotel. The hotel is almost 100 years old and it shows. On the positive side, that means the common areas are grand. The location is also in the heart of everything. But the rooms are small with tiny bathrooms. The elevators are also small and slow. The restaurant had very kind but spotty service. The thing that may make this a keeper is the shuttle to the port. Although we didn’t take it, it seemed organized and would have saved us time and money. We took an Uber which ended up a disaster.

Great location, awful sleeping accommodations
It was excellent that the room was available 2 hours early. Spacious room. The bed was like a rock. Hard as can be and sleep was very uncomfortable. The pillows were tiny. I solely would not stay here again for that reason alone. The location is great and the staff was friendly.
