I stayed two nights at the property with my wife and two kids. After checking in, we could not enter our room as the key cards didn’t work. The receptionist told us that the cards can malfunction if they come in contact with our phones. She reprogrammed the cards, but again they didn’t work. We came back downstairs, and the receptionist changed the room for us and the cards worked for the new room. Later that day, we went out for dinner. When we came back at around 11:30 PM, we couldn’t enter the room again; the cards stopped working. This time I found a different receptionist. He told me the same story, that I should not put my key cards with my phone or inside the wallet. At this time, I began to wonder what I had been doing with my key cards for the last 22 years while checking into various hotels around the world. The receptionist reprogrammed the cards, and thankfully they worked for the rest of our stay.
The breakfast area is equipped with a clunky toaster and a pancake maker. It takes about 10 minutes to toast a piece of bagel if you are patient enough to wait in the long line up. The food pickup area is a narrow closet-like room where two people can hardly fit side-by-side.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly and seemed to do their best despite the poor facilities. However, the property is in need of renovation, and I believe Expedia should lower its rating. I wouldn’t have booked this property had I known its actual condition.
